How you do it depends on what OS you're running on the plex server but I would assign static IPs to everything on the network (not a bad idea anyway) and then just block the kids rokus/phones/tablets IPs from that server.

Two separate accounts should work
Every couple of months when someone has a Plex question I'm so happy I have a Plex Pass.
I checked and his router doesn't have a guest network option which would've also sorted it out, otherwise he can just use Windows firewall and block the kids Roku IP, done.
So checked on the Huawei router I have and don't see any options of setting static IP's so this might be a lost cause until I get fibre installed next year - unless there something else to try?
I can't really think of anything because as soon as the Roku or router restarts or whenever the DHCP lease runs out and the Roku has a new IP it won't work anymore.
I tried to check other setting on my PMS but I have no idea what would normally be there or what is there because I have a Plex Pass.
Would one Plex Pass subscription work or would I need one for each server? Secondary if I get Plex Pass, will that definitely sort out my problem? Don't want to wast money![]()
Have a quick read through this:
Example Plex Home Setup
I think it would definitely work and since there isn't a reliable way to watch US Netflix anymore you can just take the unblocker money and upgrade your home "Netflix".
Will read thru it shortly but taking a quick look, does that them mean i will only have one PMS with all the content from both servers? Also, will each login on the roku with their account and only have access to the libraries I gave them access to?
What you will most likely have to do is firstly sign out on all Roku's and PMS's and start from the beginning.
On the adult PMS you sign in with your account that now has a Plex Pass, on the kids' PMS you sign in with the account you created for them, then from your PMS you invite the kids' account at which point you can either share nothing with them or setup age restrictions, that way they can still watch PG stuff off of your server and all the stuff off of their server.
Or possibly it will be as simple as adding them to your Plex Home and setting your account up with a pin you have to enter whenever you watch.
OK so I finally got round to signing up for Plex Pass.
Once signed up, I added two Plex Pass Users for both my daughters (just used their previous Plex Accounts) and only shared one library called "Kids".
Before that, I copied all there media from their own server onto my main PMS with a folder called "Kids" with all their movies from their own PMS before. I did see you can only give access to certain age restrictions etc but I found this way to be much more useful and easier as there will be no surprises if a movie maybe got mis-matched or something.
Now, when I go to Plex on either of their Roku's, they are automatically signed in and only have access to their account and the "Kids" folder so that is great.
Now for a side question - now that I am signed up for Plex Pass, is the only thing I need to change on my server side: Settings -> Server (show advance) -> General -> Update Channel and change that from Public to Plex Pass?
Is there anything else I need to change? I see with Plex Pass you can get trailers aswell - is that for the movie you want to watch or like the cinema where they play upcoming movies? Anything else I need to know / change / update?
You now have access to a bunch of useful features, I recommend you to read through this:
Plex Pass Feature Overview
and side questions, just change to the Plex Pass releases like you said and remember you now get all the apps on all platforms for free.
The trailers can be two separate things, one thing is extras for the movies you have, this will then show you the trailer of the movie you want to watch and a bunch of behind the scenes stuff like interviews and making of, and the second thing is cinema trailers, this will play movie trailers before the movie like at the cinema, you can have this set to only upcoming movies or unwatched movies from your library and you can set the number of trailers to play.

Great thanks will have a read thru shortly.
I thought all the apps went free a couple months back? Been using on my iPhone for last couple days without any issues before I got Plex Pass - or am I missing something else?

YOu have a few options.
It can be either trailers for Unwatched movies in your library or completely random trailers.
Of course this is all right there in the menu where you found the trailers in the first place, so not sure why it's even a question.
Didn't see this in the menus, read about it in the email I got when I signed up for Plex Pass.
But anyway, after reading thru the link earlier, found where to edit these settings in the PMS and select in Freebase etc to get it to work. Going to test it but not sure it something I would use. I thought they were trailers of the specific movie so I can see I can see if it something I would enjoy.
