Sexuality a choice?

Why do "some" (let me not stereotype) gay men act feminine. They are men who are interested in men. Why don't act like men. This emoticon springs to mind.

Because they are, to some extent, feminine.

The hetero-homosexuality issue is not so simple. Its mostly black and white with somewhat 40/50/70 or 20% grey areas, like most things in life.

IMO you are either heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or somewhere in between, by nature. You have absolutely no choice in the matter. But you have a choice as to how you act, who you date/kiss/marry etc despite being whichever of the four (pay attention now, the fourth is the "in between":D).

This explains why people seemingly change from one state to another and a guy who was married for years suddenly becomes gay, there's nothing sudden about it. Naturally it is difficult to go against your state but it can be done, the mind can override biological programming momentarily. This is not to say you can change a gay person to be straight, I said momentarily for god's sake!:p

At varsity i had a bunch of gay friends, classmates of my GF, her friends first then became mine. They were the nicest most caring bunch of guys i've ever met.. I enjoyed their company and i always asked them things like have you ever been with a lady etc etc they didnt mind me asking. I have lots of respect for them.
So yes Tera one more gay-guy wont change the world :P

and your gay friends won't look at you squif when you cry in Braveheart ..... well my gay friends didn't anyway, lol :D

Tara you need to jump out of that closet buddy. We're all fine with it

But as a male "HUMAN BEING" or the more scientific term, as a "GUY"... I dont see how everyone regardless of sex isnt attracted to woman, dear god you get heavenly woman!!
Woman are just plain sexier!! Even my completely straight girlfriends admit that woman are sexier than men. Its a fact!! Someone post some heavenly pics. I've never met a woman that when pushed to be completely honest doesnt agree with this fact. I think men and woman should all be attacted to woman... o dear that would mean that men would never get any but who cares thats the way it should be, O WAIT!! I TAKE THAT BACK!

:D now switch that around a little - I find MEN DAMN attractive - everything about them - Like how you can't understand why some people can't find Woman attractive, I feel the same way about men - why can't people find men attractive like that! - I DO!..

Sure you get good looking woman - Models etc - but that's just it - they're nothing more than just good looking! To me Men look just that much better, they don't need to paint their face and curl their hair and play dress up!

Out of all fairness I'm sure everybody here can agree that to some extent (not sexually) you can look at a woman and a man and say yes, they are attractive but because of your sexual orientation you would find one of them sexually attractive!

I have female friends that other people fall over themselves because of their looks - i know they are attractive but it don't interest me! Now - you guys that's str8, you have male friends that you know are also quite attractive and there are women who slide off their chairs at the mere thought of them - however, you don't find your male friends sexually attractive but you can agree that they are!

So Vegeta - from what you've stated above, its merely a point of view!

bwaha you cried? Was a very corny movie for me... I cried during vanilla sky though. :D Best movie of all time!! Made me cry happy tears, sad tears and made me grab my GF & hold her.. I'm so gay sometimes!:p

I find people who choose to let others choose their lifestyle and lie about their sexuality rather sad!

Wow dude! by all means if thats the way u feel! If you feel the way i feel when i look at that Kerry pic posted earlier, if you look at a guy and feel the same way i feel when i stare at the "unofficial" brazilian soccer team(we've all seen that pic someone post a link!)
Geez then i dont blame you!! Thats hot! go for it! i say. I have to change my previous viewpoint and say that in that case it cant be a choice!

True its sad but you can be sure there is a good reason for someone to do that, I cannot even imagine kissing a guy without my stomach churning so if some guy feels more or less like that about kissing a woman but has to do it anyway then you know its a messed up society we live in. This is why I have no respect for homophobic people but the good thing is that society acceptance of homosexuality is increasing by the day.

This is well and all, but I can't help but feel that you are losing so much, and also missing so much, by not being attracted to women.

from LA's post, it's clear he's enjoying his life with his partner ....... that's all any of us want so why is it that you think he's missing out?

One word. WOMEN. :D

OK, admit this line of talk is going nowhere. Look, I don't have any issues with gays per se, except if they become "in your face, drag queen type". That makes me pull a sour face. That's all.

Try as I might, I can't figure out poster gender in this thread! (Based on replies only)

With that said, :D I firmly believe that sexuality is in fact a result of many, many factors, including personal experience during and after childhood, psychological factors, and so much more - but no, it's not a biological thing.

I'm a guy, if you wondered :p ;) :D

That said. I was molested when I was very young, early in primary school by a young man. That effected my life for a couple of years and I have for sure wondered in the past if I am in fact gay.

As I mentioned, my main thing is, I've been diagnosed with schizophrenia, so out of respect for someone else (whoever they may be) I've decided not to be involved with anyone.

I do agree with you though, I don't think it's a biological factor, although it is a human factor.

In my faith I practice, it would not be right of me to say I believe homosexuality is correct, and I say that with the most respect to anyone who is gay. My faith at the end of the day is what I base my life on, so that takes higher priority to me than anything else.

I have struggled with my sexuality, I still do in a sense, but I'm the most content and at peace if I tell myself I'd rather live and be alone, hope it makes sense :p

The point Picard is that Lab could say exactly the same thing to you about guys.

It kind of reminds me a story of a blind wu shu master and his student. The master could hear some remarkably quiet things and the student would ask "How is it that you can hear all these things?" he answered "How is it that you cannot hear these things?"

Geez thats f*ckedup what happen 2 u buddy. I would moer him for you if the p@es is still around. Your not to blame 4 what happened it was just a single sick person and you had to go through a test much earlier in your life than the rest of us. Life is hard u know but children should be shielded from it for a while. I personally think that you aren't gay, if you battle to decide and are attracted to girls but becuz of sh@t that happened 2 u in the past ur not sure... Than i suppose ur straight but wounded, you need the kind warmth of a womans bosom to craddle you my man!

I had a g/f who was allegedly raped by one of our friends and now she is lesbian.

Also yes i can tell another man is attractive but the thought of kissing or holding said guy makes me feel a little under the weather.

I don't see that people are born gay to be honest, i think being gay at the moment is the in thing and everyone second guy you meet is gay.

I think how your life evolves makes you gay and i don't believe for one second people are born gay.

I don't see a reason why it should be weird :p I'm quite normal ;)
I'm waiting for the double post saying, "Me too." :D

j/k Teraside - not meaning to make fun of your situation at all, simply of the thoughts these posts bring to mind. God bless.
