Sexuality a choice?

So you have absolute control over your lightsabre, then?

Must be a Yoga master or something.

Touch, as well as what you see, is important. I'm sure as hell not going to get it up if someone that you don't want to be with wants to get it on with you!

But you could convince yourself to get one if you wanted? Even for a man?

I would if I look at Matthew McConaughey ... but it would be because I wish I had a flat stomach like him and I then knew exactly the type of girls I would then get. Girls like these.

Actually, acknowledging Matt's flat stomach, shows a certain bend towards batting for the other team. Otherwise you would not have even noticed it.

Oh please, as a male i can acknowledge when another man is good looking.

There's this stereotype that u shouldn't even notice, well that's stupid and makes me wonder whether it's not more of a jealousy thing.

So you say that you are so ignorant that you don't even see that another man is toned and muscular.

I read a report on News 24 this morning that Kylie Minogue is considering becoming a lesbian.

My questions are: Is there really a choice or are you born to be who you are?

Why, after being straight for 30 or 40 years, suddenly change your sexual preference?

It is not my intention to discriminate against anyone by asking these questions.

It depends on your sexuality. For some people it is not a choice... You will get a percentage of the population that are mostly (as long as their wives dont find out) monogamous. A percentage that is polygamous and the moderates. The same applies for what you want. You will get a percentage that is heterosexual, a group that is bisexual, and then gay and lesbians.

If someone is quasi or fully bisexual then they will have a choice in their sexuality and what they want. If they are fully gay, straight or lesbian, then its not really a choice thing.

Sexuality is mostly nature and not nurture. IE, most of your sexuality is defined by your genes. So you will either like someone of the same sex and want to be them, or you wont.

It's a choice and a lifestyle, nothing biological about it...... PERIOD !

So what your saying is that you can, just like choosing the pair of shoes you'll wear, choose to find men attractive? Would you mind doing that, and letting us know how it went?

On this topic: read the research that has been done on human sexuality. Twin studies indicate that genes play about 50% role in sexuality. There are also the birth order studies, which indicates something happening in the womb with the fetus if the mother had male babies before. For every older brother you have, your chances of being gay increases with 33%. Note, this has nothing to do with being "raised" with more male siblings, purely to do with how many brothers came out of the same womb as you.

Studies on pheromones, brain structure and handedness also indicates biological/genetic differences between gays and straights. I am talking about males here, female homosexuality is less studied, and less is known about the causes.

If you think homosexuality is a choice, think again. If you want to believe that, then fine, you can believe whatever you want. It will not change the facts.

No what I am saying is that kids made that choice in their developing years, their minds are now in that state of no return. There is no scientific proof that people are born gay ;)

Wait so you one day as a child thought "hmmm, should I be gay or straight? What should I choose? Hmmm?"

Cause I didn't make that choice, I just turned out straight by default.
