Umm, so if someone sets up a proxy at their home on a miserable dsl line and dishes out the dynamic dns address to all their blocked buddies - your server would pick it up.....???....I don't think so.

And there must be hundreds by now who dish it out to their buddies and buddies buddies etc etc.

Their aint much hope of stopping it IMHO i'm afraid.

AMEN, this filthy habit needs to be rooted out.
My vote goes for non smokers to receive EXTRA hour a day. Meaning we can knock off or rock up one hour earlier.

I feel it should be blocked frankly (And no I am not in management..hehe). We had it open out of good faith here at work, then people (surprise, surprise) started abusing it, I am talking like about 2 hours a day here (not including lunch). Now it is gone. Thats one thing everyone seems to overlook, people are inherintly lazy, and if you give em a window to exploit the working environment then they will. Its human nature. Another thing is that your office end user has no concept of bandwidth so to them watching a streaming video over the net is like TV.

Nope, I block nothing, Why should I fire someone for browsing a "dodgy" site, to be honest It rarely happens anyway, the other would give him/her a hard enough time about it anyway, Warez and illegal stuff is off course frowned upon, but this is done by trusting my employees and not by treating them as irresponsible children, I dicovered a long time ago a person will act the way you make them act, if you treat employees like irresponsible children, who can not be trusted, then that is how they will act, if you treat them like the responsible adults that they are, then that is how they act.

I've often seen en employee spending the entire day doing nothing but browsing the web, only to be heads down the next day no lunch no break, and staying late to make up the time, not because I or anyone told him to, but because they know that I trust them to do that.

It is refreshing to see that at least some people in this country still have the right attitude.

We're fairly laidback around here, management included, but our work is always done on time, usually before, and to the best of everyone's abilities.

Yeah blocked at my work. Just like youtube, rapidshare, prodigits and encylopediadramatica.com :(
