Shaving: Electric or Razor?

Doesn't it? I am fairly sure it does. Also its not like a need to apply a truck load. Even if the shaving gel is cheaper, I am sure that cost per use will be higher. Thoughts?

Oh, make no mistake, i dont waste time with shaving gel, I just wasn't sure of the answer. I've always used good soap or prep. My shampoo just doesn't cost peanuts unfortunately. Ironic considering I hardly have hair ROFL.

Hehe. I see your point. Well I've tried soap before and found that it didn't soften the beard much and it didn't provide as good a glide as shampoo does. Like I said, I use Organics, not exactly top shelf shampoo :p
 
My brother tipped me on to the cheap 3 blade disposible Gillets, R30-R40 a pack of five. That and sensitivity gel sorts my beard out and I have hairs that will richochet around a room if bent too far.
 
Eh, I was mad on Monday. Was cleaning the head when the damn blades fell out. It's one of those Phillips 3-blade ones, where it says you are supposed to keep the blades in the same position for optimum performance, and if they do end up out of position, will take time to get back to optimum. Either it's just me, but it doesn't seem to be cutting as close as it was before now.

Oh well, will just have to wait a bit then.

+1 ... same here, been shaving with a philips electric razor since fathers day last year and cannot go back to the razor
 
Tried electric, didn't like the feel of it and took too long.

Using both Mach 3 and the Fusion. Both are ok, but the Mach 3 seems to last longer with me.

I don't use gels anymore as they don't seem to work well with me. Happy with Nivea foam.

But,

I STILL HATE SHAVING!

I also hate shaving wish I didn't have to do it
 
When i use blades it's the normal Gillette Contour blades but 95% of the time I use a Braun 8985 electric. It's a straight foil type of razor and I've been very happy with it - consumables are cleaning liquid (it has an auto-clean/recharging dock) and cutter and foil, which need replacing about once a year.

In the long run it works out cheaper than razors for me and although a shave takes a little longer than a normal razor shave, I find I generally get a closer shave in the end.

There has been one downside and that is that the local Braun distributors are absolutely crap in comparison with Philips, so when I ever decide to replace my current razor I'll probably look at Philips.
 
Been using electric for about a year and a half, don't think i'll ever use blades again, sure electric takes longer but just love the convenience.
 
I want to get myself a safety razor. I'm tired of these multi blade plastic toys that clogs up.
