Shopping for a new ISP

@DJ... - will you guys also support fiber? Because copper may get the boot in the end....

Crystal Fibre will be launching at the same time as our ADSL/copper business. This is a different kettle of fish, but we've set up fantastic agreements with the fibre big-guns and we're going to lead the way in fibre rollouts in SA...

Cool, excellent! Future-proofing FTW

You can move to us beforehand - just downgrade your MWEB to a 1GB capped account and send in your cancellation. You don't need to wait for your line to be transferred. If you're opting to move your line to us, which makes sense considering our 24 hour support and direct line info and diagnostics, then we will only charge you the lesser of the two costs (between bundled and unbundled) until the month that your line is migrated to us...

I did send in my form to cancel service and move line back to Telkom, I assume that I can't move the line directly to you? As soon as they confirm the moving of the line is processed I can get my Crystal account active?

You can get it beforehand if need be, but it's up to you. The account will still work no matter who the line is with. Unfortunately Telkom require you to move the line back to them before it can be transferred to a new ISP...

Will there be support via Zello? My current ISP does not give this feature unfortunately, and it is a brilliant tool for people on pay as you go cell phones. Lets face it, not everybody can call a 011 or 012 from their cell. I might have ADSL, but that doesn't mean I have a telkom phone in my home lol.

So email support?

No zello support, but there's live chat if need be when an agent is available and we're introducing a very cool calling feature in the next few months but that one stays under wraps for now...;)

Obviously, but I am so used to other companies taking 2 days to respond, especially if your data account is dead in the water.

Not the case with us.

BTW, you haven't completed your info...;)

Well, nothing to lose, looking for a new ISP from June, the timing is impeccable...

Sent a mail, got a reply in minutes! Pricing is really reasonable.

My Crystal Web account will be activated from 1 July :D

The shaping policy sounds too good to be true for the price! :D Only shape P2P and nothing else - if you're in the top 20% of users for 2 Mbps and top 50% of users for 4/10 Mbps uncapped accounts.

This sounds like the old IS way of doing it.

Not what I heard.

Confirm DJ... ?

From my understanding is... they only shape NNTP if you're in the top 20% or top 50% or do they shape it 24/7?

Yeah we'll only shape p2p, and it's based on usage of the account. So this means we can offer an unshaped experience to a point, then start shaping only p2p...
