Anyone in the support queue we've created is already booked a spot. Then there's a rolling window that runs to push and pull more users into this so that we can evaluate who gets what fairly. It's effectively a first-come-first serve policy though.

Note that I haven't setup pro-rata billing on our backend accounting systems yet, so best to activate on the 1st of next month...

By the way, this is the process we are adopting moving forward. If we haven't been agile enough to scale up quickly enough to match demand, we will limit signups even after launch. As a rule in this business I refuse to sacrifice support quality for an extra buck here and there. I firmly believe that the longevity of this business will be tied into the quality of support we provide...

Looks like I am in also. If I can find a way to pay with paypal / Credit Card that will be AWESOME. DJ that new service of Standard Bank where you pay via QR code, that going to be introduced soon?
 
So guys NNTP is quite important for me, would love to sign up with them, but are you guys able to download from news servers? Im really not bothered about P2P traffic

I tried to introduce it, I really did. But there is no option for you to include a payment reference so it reflects on my end like a batch payment, so I can't reconcile. So even though you've paid, your invoice may remain unpaid using this method, but there are some other options here that we're exploring. SnapScan are introducing new modules for this, and there's another service that may work, but Standard Bank haven't set it up on their end yet.

I'm on the ball on this stuff and really want to use it, but currently it's just not feasible without custom QR codes per customer, which SnapScan can't yet do...
 
Initial sign-up with them, is happy and satisfied with the product so far...

We're introducing free access to our own news server with 2000+ day retention and more awesome features. Will be available soon, but not just yet, unless you were one of the lucky customers who got the free trial/test accounts which have already been filled.

We classify nntp as p2p btw - falls in the same usage category...

Do you shape/throttle this traffic 24/7? Or do you allow full speeds during the hours of 00:00 - 06:00?

We shape p2p traffic dynamically, and are soon going to introduce the midnight windows as well. Currently, as a token of our gratitude to early adopters, there are no real limits on this day or night - new signups get pretty much an unshaped experience - we are shaping a little here and there but not that much. When we launch, uncapped accounts move over into a shaping zone. That shaping info is available via our sales desk for now but is very fair...;)

Not right now. Pre-launch is limited to EFTs while we finalise the automation of our payment systems. We will accept CC once we launch, and perhaps before then as well. Launch is planned for 4 weeks from now...

Last question, would I be able to connect to any other NNTP servers on your network up until your NNTP becomes avaialble? I'm sure i wont even fall in the top 50 of NNTP traffic as I use +- 100gb a month which is not that much. :)

Absolutely. Just not the ISP specific ones like SAIX and IS news servers...
