Vape myself and dislike others going out of their way to cloud you out. I am always mindful of who is up wind and move or wait until I can vape again. There will always be that minority.
Yeah same. I used it as a smoking cessation device, and generally treat it like I did smoking: do it away from anyone it might inconvenience.

Tomatoes don't disperse into the air accross a concetration gradient. Your personal experience does not count. That is called anecdotal evidence in science. You need a peer reviewed study to be taken seriously. We didn't tell you to start smoking. It was your own choice.

Been vaping for five years, my health has drastically improved since I stopped smoking AND every vaper I know has said the same, and those who have Doctors monitoring their improvement, validate this.

Nicotine is found in tomatoes should we brand them a tobacco product to???
you would need to eat like 20 Kg of tomatoes in one go to get an equivalent amount of Nicotine that you would from 1 cigarette.
I'm sure Nicotine is the last of your worries if are eating that many tomatoes though

It's found in potatoes, too. To be more precise, any plant in the deadly nightshade family has nicotine in its leaves as a poison to stop it being eaten by insects. Should tell you all you need to know, really.

What about smoking a brisket at home? Or just having a braai?
Well actually indoor cooking is suspected to be a cause of lung cancer. Similarly fires used for outdoor cooking.

I have no idea what it consists of but I dislike the smell. Not that smoking is any better, it smells even worse.
Which smell? There is no one vaping smell.

Allergies perhaps? Does mist and fog also cause coughing?

The whole point behind vaping is harm reduction. Smoking costs the taxpayer billions in healthcare costs and places like the UK support vaping and state that it is 95% less harmful than smoking.

Why tax something that is meant to save you billions.

I said yes, but not because of the nicotine, but because of the smoke. Vapers tend to be inconsiderate of others. Blowing way too much smoke and especially in public places.
If there's smoke then that it is a serious problem. You'd definitely want to step away from them. Best case they're burning cotton. Worst case the battery is about to go. But then I've never encountered someone vaping who would continue doing so when they're down to burning the wick. So maybe that burning smell and smoke is the battery. Unusual though. Normally there's no smoke at all.

Here is your peer reviewed study: https://www.rcplondon.ac.uk/projects/outputs/nicotine-without-smoke-tobacco-harm-reduction. Can mail you the complete 200 page PDF as well. But i'm sure you can download it yourself from the article link. Published by the Royal College of Physicians.

Allergies yes. And there might not be just one smell, but I don't care for any of it. I don't want to inhale your second hand smoke.

I've selected other. As a vaper myself, I feel that Vaping needs to be done considerately when in any public space. But it should not be taxed as a tobacco product when it is in fact, scientifically proven to be far less (95%) harmful than combustible tobacco products. And it is widely and successfully used as a smoking cessation tool.

Because there are some real truths behind it. One is that the government makes good money off the taxes. Far more than the harm caused. They don't want to lose that. Another is the puritanical undercurrent.

The decision in UK was quite a surprise. A rare case of making a sensible harm reduction decision. But there's still a clamour from the puritans to crack down.

Nicotine is not the killer in combustible cigarettes. It’s the tar and dozens of other harmful chemicals. E-cigarettes do not contain those harmful chemicals and have been found to be over 95% less harmful than smoking by the Royal College of Physicians in the UK.

No they should not even if they contain nicotine. Nicotine is not the dangerous part and many liquids contain tobacco free nicotine. You can find nicotine in vegetables and fruit, why not tax those too?!

It is just ANC trying to tax something new, the corrupt f###.

not deadly nightshade family just nightshade family Solanaceae - deadly nightshade and mandraek are part of this group - being in a family of deadly plants don't make them all - A lot of the veggies fall under Solanaceae

as for quantity again
eggplants (Brinjals ) i think in veggies has the most Nicotine and again you would need to eat like 10Kg of eggplant to get to the same level as cigarette
Potatoes have less then 1/10th of the nicotine that eggplants - we eat alot but i don't think we eat over 100 Kg's of potatoes in 1 sitting

If you want to talk about deadly stuff in nature - let's talk about Oxygen - have you seen what that does to Iron and steel
