......It infuriates me to see such an effective quitting method being lumped under the same banner because of pure ignorance and/or incompetence.

/end rant
That's all great what you say, and you'd definitely know more than most of us on this matter. Just one things you said in your last sentence; Most 'vapers' are not using it to quit their nicotine addiction (cos let's face it, that's why people become addicted to smoking in the first place). They are replacing one addiction, for another one, because you'd need to be a complete idiot to just buy nic-less fluid just so you could blow out cherry-scented whale farts all day. Bottom line: vaping is used as a transport mechanism for a drug (cbd, thc, nicotine). This needs to be controlled. I don't want to breathe in second-hand pineapple-nicotine-fart smoke while I'm walking out of the mall, or trying to enjoy a meal.
And let's not even to begin how dangerous this has become for children. It's literally plugging them into this addictive cycle earlier than ever. You had a shop, tell us about the cherry, grape, fruity flavours. Turning addiction into a sweet. It's abhorrent. It needs to be regulated heavily as it's out of hand in a big way.

A vape device is akin to a nebuliser.

It heats a mixture of pg & vg to vapour point. The flavour and nicotene is entirely optional.

I can vape straight vegetable glycerin if I want to... But that's a bit silly.

There is no ignition, no flame, and no tobacco of any sort.

As for cloud chasers... Other vapers think they should eat a d|€£ too.

rubbish. Most cigarette smokers don't give a crap, even for themselves. Prove me wrong?

I can ask you the same thing about vape smokers. Unless you have hard core data to back your claim. Easy to makeup bullshit facts which are nothing more than a biased opinion.

Yip. I think once a person has weened off the nicotine (like you said, people could vape any PG/VG mix. It's basically a nebulizer of some sort), Some people are flavor chasers. So they still continue vaping cause they like the flavors or it helps them stay off the NIC due to it being sweet.

Reason most smokers pick up weight, is the craving for sweet things or snacks. <the vape is a thing that gives them the sweetness without the calories> It also keeps the hands and mind occupied. So basically one day, they will just notice there is really no need for the vape unless they just like the flavors.

Most cigarette smokers go out of their way to not bother other people.
Only because the law says they have to. I'm old enough to remember when people could smoke anywhere in a restaurant, inside shopping centres, etc. If the law didn't forbid it now, they'd still be lighting up.

Cinemas, planes, schools, hospitals... life was good.

EDIT: they only banned smoking on the Underground after the Kings Cross Fire of '87. Prior to '84 you could smoke on the trains themselves.

Ag rerig. And coffee/caffeine is also addictive? Should we ban that also with all the energy drinks? and Alcohol? And Porn?
Please give us some studies where secondhand vape contain any dangerous chemicals.

I smoked or 35+ years, vaped for a further 5-6 but when I gradually weaned myself off nicotine there was no incentive to vape any more after that. It seemed as pointless as decaf and near-beer.

Hey man, don't get me wrong, I don't believe either of those two statements. I've seen enough cigarette stomped flicked out of cars and vape stink in movie theaters to know they're all assholes in general.

From a medical point of view there is very little difference. They should be regulated just like any tobacco product. The belief that vaping is safer, is a myth, created to lull users into a false sense of security.

I believe that in most cases people should be allowed to put whatever they want in their bodies ;) It shouldn't affect others though and they must suffer or enjoy the consequences though.
Problem is that vapers are generally assholes. They think their product is safe, and so blow the bloody smoke all over, with no regard for people around them. If they want to do it, it must be at home. And even then, as a doctor I have to advise that it's not good for your kids. And no, smoking or vaping outside the house is NOT better (most of them give me this BS excuse to continue smoking around their kids). The chemicals still get onto your clothes and simply hugging your children is sufficient.

It's not a tobacco product, though. The majority of nicotine found in juice comes from a lab.

Nicotine is literally the ONLY thing that smoking and vaping have in common. Even the action of how the nicotine gets to your brain is completely different. To regulate them same way makes absolutely no sense at all.

Balls. As a Doctor, you should know better.

Not much of an argument there now is there?

Fact is there are the 1% that have no regard to others no matter what the activity is. Smoking, vaping, drinking, driving .etc

1% of motorists are dicks, ban cars as 1 guy cuts you off?

You're pulling that 1% number out of your ass. Bring me a white paper or something that supports your 1% number and we'll talk.

Until then, only 1% of vapers don't like man bun to bun action.

Vaping is worse than smoking, at least with smokers the cloud of smoke is smaller, vaping makes these massive clouds that you can't as easily avoid.
But it's not smoke, it's vapour.

That makes 100% sense. But at the end of the day. The vape did it's job. Got you off the stinky's... slow ween. Less tarr on the lungs etc. Once the body adapts to not needing the NIC. Maybe a month or so later. Till you 100% sure. Then yes. No more vape needed. You are just inhaling flavors. Just like you said. It starts getting a bit pointless. Like alcohol free beer. It's basically a alcohol flavored cold drink :)

Congrats by the way. I know it's a hard journey. My mom also went the same way. She smoked for 30-35 years. 1year on the vape...and she's been off the vape too for little more than 1year now.

<i myself don't smoke or vape, only reason i know quite a bit about it. Is cause i had to show her how to change the coils, check the juice levels, make sure everything including the backup vape pen is charged and to change the different flavor juices between the pods etc. for my mother to use. I had to learn to show her. Youtube and Google is my friend>

Vapers are assholes in the same way the BMW drivers are assholes in my experience ;) One of the reasons I stopped vaping was because of my girlfriend falling pregnant with our son, I still very much enjoy being an ******* from time to time.
