Should you wait for the iPhone?

The browser that comes with the HTC Touch Diamond is an HTC customised version of Opera mobile... you can zoom similar to the iPhone - also displays as if its a normal Opera (desktop ver) rendering - so no bad renders or missing content.

Have you guys seen the HTC Touch Pro?

Now I want that! :)

I'm sure you can get Opera browser for Windows Mobile devices, but it ships with Internet Explorer as default.

Where did you import the diamond from?

This phone is pretty much nothing more than a status symbol
I absolutely agree... just like a Garmin it is the latest in a long line of status symbols particularly in SA that one has to have to be better than the Joneses.

The Joneses are idiots, garmin sucks... Tomtom ftw!! :p

Where would be a good place to get information on all the latest phones available in SA, especially smart type phones?

Isn't the HTC Diamond available here yet? Thought I saw it on nashuamobile's site...

Advert on the right. Click it, takes you to the leaf site. If you are smart enough to figure out their website, you will be able to find the HTC Touch diamond. But when you click, WHERE TO BUY, (In firefox this button does not work) , you will get NOT AVAILABLE, plus a page script error, thanks IE7

I like the HTC Touch Pro more. I know it looks almost the same, but the Touch Pro looks beter to me... :-) If that makes any sense.

I have a similar question, than what was inteded for this thread....

should I wait for Vodacom to sell the iPhone , or rather wait for Nokia to Design the Z450i and import it...

will the iPhone be available outside of a contract? Ie. Can i walk into a store hand them the cash and walk out with an iPhone?

The Vodacoms are still trying to figure out what this whole eye-phone thing is. They will get back to us with all these answers as soon as they get to the bottom of it... :D

Of course it will, but you might have to mortgage your house to buy it :p

The GPS uses Google Maps doesn't it? Last time i checked Google Maps was not very complete for RSA - very few street names, etc... Am I missing something obvious here? Do Apple apply their own layer to Google Maps?

Anybody got an answer on this one yet? I'm really curious!

I think the question is more, "Should you wait for Vodacom to offer the iPhone?" ;)
Leaning towards answering a No on that one. Maybe we should enlist the guys at snopes.com to investigate this whole Vodacom iPhone 3G thing...

I'm curious about the iPhone too. None of the posts here have convinced me that its even something worth considering.

It's purdy and all but unless Vodacom makes the iphone as inexpensive to operate as the blackberry I'll give it a miss for now.

In the end I gave it a miss as they are as usual thinking we live in RIPP OFF SOUTH AFRICA so I got a mate to send me her old O2 one for free from the UK, I should get it any day now lol
