Finally got round to playing with Nova after some badgering from Fanie about my boring screen. It's a work in progress and I really need to find a better looking time and weather widget. Loving the gestures though such as double tap I've assigned to opening camera.

You need to change a couple of things still

1. Get an icon pack, Samsung icons suck donkey balls. I recommend this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.themezilla.pixelui
2. Then you need to change your app drawer to the pixel way
- App Drawer Style: Vertical
- Card Background: ON
- Swipe to open: ON
3. Then add the Nova widget called: Quick Start Bar. Long press, edit
- Set the Bar Style to the 4th one down, pick a Logo style you like, and under content, select Weather
- You can make it look like this:

Just realizing that there is no notifications on WhatsApp etc and have had to download a notification add on.
 
Ok. I actually had the pixel app drawer set the way you said. I'd just taken the screen shot after I'd swiped back to home screen and taken the shot before it changed to the arrow.

So I've got the icons you suggested. Opened the app and it shows a lot of packs they have for sale. Is there a free default one and how do you activate?

once you've downloaded the icon pack, select it in the launcher itself, you don't even have to open the icon pack app.

do this:
1. Long press on the home screen, settings.
2. Look & Feel -> Icon Theme -> and then select pixel icon pack
