I noticed the price of those secondhand the other day, why are they so pricey on the secondhand market?
Do the Omega straps fit quite a few models?
FOIS was a limited edition with the slimmer case, no crown guards, sword hands etc so it became a collectors item. Until the revamped 321 came around, it was the only way to get that case shape without paying mega money.

As for the Omega FOIS bracelets, people with normal watches probably wanted that vintage look, so the bracelets became a commodity on their own.

Just arrived :) (edited with better pic once I adjusted the links on the bracelet)

44mm is probably the upper edge of what would wear nicely on my little stick-wrists.

Nice.
Watched a Youtube review the other day of the Duro and the guy said that some times these go as low as $40 (R750!!) during a promotion over at Walmart USA.
Farking hell.

What's the import duty on watches? Looking at local pricing...it must be a fortune?

Some lucky fellas got them for an absolute steal:

I think I gave a breakdown a few posts ago but the import fees and shipping came to around R350 total, with the watch making up the remainder of the R1775

import duties are minimal

Last time I paid R450 on about R4500

not exactly sure how that is calculated, as that is clearly less than 15% VAT

Vat only on watches.

Went through Schipol a few days back, ordered / reserved a Longines Zulu 39mm, which I'll pick up on Sunday. Gaasens had it about 20% off retail (display model I guess) so the hunt for a GMT is over.

Edit. Picked it up on Sunday afternoon, they did the bracelet adjustments etc too. Will post some pics once I'm back in the land of Guiness and rain.

Top work!

Always thought the original was beautiful but too large. The 39 is the chef's kiss.

Thanks! They had the 42mm, but they do wear bigger, way too big for me. There's also the new titanium ones that were recently released. They were priced at €650 more, which is the same as the non discounted price for the standard one, I went with the savings instead.

Love it!

Be sure to check out Twelve o' Clock if keeping tabs on watch accuracy is something you enjoy doing.

Thanks! I need to check the accuracy, completely forgot. (Nifty app, just added my watch to it).

Was watching Fall Guy on the plane, damn the Tag Glassbox is really nice looking.

If a great 2nd hand deal came along, I’d be seriously tempted

One of these was on my list but got a quote of upward if R50k for a service.... Would only send them to Omega but that is, very expensive.
Why would the service price be so ridiculously high?
