Android will wake up the box from time to time to run updates, but it should not unblank the screen and it should not be laggy. We'll try reproduce this issue and establish what is happening.

I bought a Skyworth from the local Cash Crusaders for R600. Now also battle with Netflix. Do I copy the APK on a flash drive and then install on the Skyworth? If so, where do I select it on the box? I can still return the unit under an arrangement made to test it. Please advise.

I used Puffin Web Browser, which is available in the playstore.

You can download the APK from there.

Once downloaded, the box will ask for approve the browser as an "uknown source" installer.

That's how i've been installing my apk's

Installed firefox like that too, but needed to use my airmouse/keyboard to use it.

You will need "android tv side loader" from the store to run it, after installation.

You can only use the Netflix phone app limited to 480p.
Netflix started to block all patched Netflix apps and devices not certified to use their app.
Their might still be a very old Netflix app that can work for now, but sooner or later it will force you to update and then also not work anymore.
