Skyworth Binge TV Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Is it possible to use the voice commands to control the DSTV now app on the Skyworth Android tv box? It is possible to choose channels using commands?
 
I got mine last week. Noticed when i insert a flash drive it doesn't recognize it. Also how do i add apk's on it like Google chrome or any other Browsers? Some advice will be much appreciated. thank you

Older flash drives don't seem to work.
 
So I finally opened and set it up..my dstv now live channels work perfect on smart tv..however on the skyworth it only shows mnet.and ss2 as the live channels?catch up has shows from all the channelsPlease help:(

You probably looking at the recently viewed channels. You need to scroll up to Live TV

I should say recently watched or favourite channels at the top of the screen, just click on that and go to all channels.
 
Just got my box. My first experience with this product. I have the "checking for updates" stuck screen. Any idea? Earlier in the thread it means to try English UK. Tried that, US & Aus English all same story, cannot progress further. Not a very good first impression.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Set mine us two days ago..had no issues whatsoever

Was trying via WiFi no luck.

Tried good old Ethernet & now it's (slowly) downloading updates now.

I just hope once it's done WiFi will run well. I assume the chip is not weak in the unit or anything.

Download analiti once you're set up and test your speeds to check.
 
Just got my Skyworth Binge and everything is great thus far. Can anybody direct me to a thread or page that will teach me how to sideload.

Can one use one of the boxes to stream the same content to a second TV that has a box also instead of both streaming via the net?

An interesting question, but I think the answer is not. Do not know how to stream something from an Android TV box to any other device.

Would it be possible to stream/cast from a single device to two different Android TV boxes, simultaneously. Again I don't know.

Sorry we missed this. Please follow the instructions under "Stuck on update during Setup" here: http://myskyworth.com/support/

This is caused by a bug in the GMS that shipped with the specific version of Android 8.0 on our box. It is resolved by the update and happens fairly rarely.
