I think I have some sort of sleep "disorder" and I use that term very loosely...

Once I'm asleep that's it. I'm out for hours. If I get anything less than 9 - 10 hours sleep a night I'm almost garaunteed to nod off during the day. I'm tired all the time and can't 'power nap' in the purest sense - a power nap for me is a 3 - 5 hour sleep marathon.

This weekend for example I slept from 11pm Friday night to 12pm Saturday. I then went to sleep again at 3pm and woke up at 6.30pm. I then went back to sleep at about 10.30pm and only woke at 1pm on Sunday afternoon. By 10pm last night I was exhausted again and went back to bed. Waking up in the mornings can be traumatic on the best of days and I'm anywhere from 15mins to 60mins late for work almost every day.

I can't keep sleeping like this :/ I can go to sleep at any time, in any place (public or private) and under any circusmtances (light, noise etc etc), and most of the time I WANT to sleep. I've tried vitamin b complex and / or b12 injections, I drink at least 2 Berocca during the day ... *sigh* I need to wakethefakup.

How much sleep do you guys get / need / want?

I get to bed at around 1am and I'm up at 6am. I'd like more but my kids aren't accommodating my wishes at this time.

I sleep 4-6 hours a night, on average these days. If I get 8, it's great though. It could be possible you're oversleeping? I had a friend who's sister had a sleeping disorder where her mind didn't flick the "I had enough sleep" switch, and she could sleep for 2 days straight, if you didn't wake her up. It became quite serious since your body can't cope with that much sleep, funnily enough! I'd see a sleep specialist, if I were you. Can't do any harm.

Get some exercise ( go work out at gym till you are at the point of collapse, eat healthy, cut sugar out of your diet. I can guarantee if you do this 4 or 5 times a week – you will feel very refreshed with only 6 hours sleep.

Agreed workout really works the first few weeks u may still sleep a lot but then u will have more power throughout the day. Cut down on your energy drinks.
But go see a doctor if this don't work.

Isn’t it true that you blood sugar drops when you sleep, and that low blood sugar makes you tired? Perhaps you should sleep less. I get about 4-6 and it works for me, but every now and again I need about 10 hours to “recharge”, about every 2 months or so.

Do you not get into trouble for coming late for work every day? :)
My excuses have worn a bit thin I can assure you. The boss is on maternity leave at the moment which gives a bit more flexibility and generally we can come and go with a certain amount of leeway (sp) but it cant keep going on like this. Pretty soon I'm going to get in real **** because of my tardiness...

No ways. You must be on muti or something...

THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE CAN NOT NOD OFF DURING FIELA SE KIND !!!

No way. Sorry.

That being said, Minamino does contain absolutely crucial amino acids, that the body does not produce enough of...

This does not nearly sound ok, but I have experienced similar things. Turned out that I was sleeping too much and that 5.5-6 h/day is enough for me. Although it varies the doc generally agrees that 8+ h in a 24h period is too much and can have all sorts of funny effects.

Try the exercise thing and sleeping less (it might take a week to adjust) and if that does not work I would see a doc asap
