Smart light switches

I grabbed some of the 1 gangs and dual face plates

You'll love it, guaranteed.

The light is also less intrusive than the local Qualitel touch switches.

Also covered my old switches quite nicely.

Cant understand why not available in SA. The touch switch is ok. No issue for me but tactile is just better. Or at least just feels better!

Two plates? Hmm, might struggle to get 2 fitted into one "hole".

Our SA holes tend to be small. May be the reason the touch 2/3 gangs more popular/available?

Yeah gonna do some expanding... nice dyi coming up

The non-tactile ones are really crap. More of a pressure plate than a switch. Heaven knows why they sell that rubbish tbh

I notice that once I replace dumb switches of my motion detector lights with smart light switches (qualitel) that the motion detector lights remain on when timer switches on the light switches?

Anybody else experience this? Not a crisis but I prefer functioning motion detection lights.

Installed 2 TreatLife switches today. So far so good. The black wires were indeed neutrals in my outlets. The devices are quite big and had to really squash it in to get it to fit. But works well. Let's see how the week goes20220326_130405.jpg20220326_092430.jpg

I think with some wire trimming and smaller wire connectors it would fit pretty easily. Just didnt wanna cut wires shorter in case. Once im sure these last well i will probably open it up and trim them to fit properly.

But for me these tactile switches are flippen amazing. They are on a different planet than the pressure switches - those are just horrid

I bought 12 of these switches on Amazon. 3k to my door. What a bargain

Voltage? I think the normal switches cater for 220V.

Insurance? Low but high impact risk if house burns down of claim rejection. Get a CoC if not too expensive.

Really nice but my issue is I have some many 3 gang switches that this just cannot work for me.

Shellys? With the old switches?

I have all Smartlife Qualitel brand touch switches (2 gang and one gang plus 1 x 3 gang) except for the 3 way TreatLife tactile smart switch in the passage.

Yea my plan is le grand arteos with shellies behind them. Atleast if the shelly dies I can replace it and still keep the same looking switches all over.

I bought 2x 2-gang packs. They fit perfectly. Still need to install though

I will have to enlarge the outlet

is that switch upside down?

I would lose those chocolate blocks, and the shiner while you at it :p

No the light at the bottom. Otherwise mine also upside down.

These switches have a lovely tactile feel. And look better than touch switches.

But I use Google Assistant regularly for switching on and off. Have a google speaker everywhere (minis mostly).

Only the Google Max speaker missing.

Personally loving the sonoffs. Whole house has been set up and all the lamps in the house have been hooked up as well. Loving the automation. Some of the scenes used are as follows:

1. Movie lighting (voice command and one click button on home screen) - main lights in living room/library go off and lamps turn on if not already on.
2. Sunset outdoor (time of day: sunset) - outdoor lights turn on
3. Sunset indoor (time of day: 30 min before sunset) - all lamps turn on in the house, this is great for ambient lighting. The main lights are manually turned on as needed.
4. Sunrise indoor (time of day: 30 min before sunrise) - all lights in kitchen and scullery turn on.
5. Lights out (voice command and one click button on home screen) - all indoor lights switched off.

Leaving the lights on much longer than needed doesnt bother me much as they run on solar/battery bank.

Will play around more in the weeks to come but so far very happy with the tech upgrade for the house :)

Also added all sonoffs to a new gmail accounts basically [email protected] which can be given to the new owners when we sell one day - thanks for the suggestions guys!
