Actually much of the fish we eat in SA (even at the sea) doesn't come from within our own borders. I have heard that much of it comes from Mozambique, and in fact the owner of Codfather in JHB confirmed this with me not too long ago...

A lot of it is also from Namibia, AFAIK.

Thought you guys've been around long enough to know when someones taking the p1ss, of course there's nothing wrong with eating seafood anywhere in the country. Even us Kaapies have to make do with frozen fish sometimes. All I'm saying is that "just caught" is ways better.

I'd take canned fish over canned meat any day, at least you know it's fish you're eating.

Lemon butter and jam basting? Wow that is a sensory overload of note!

You have no idea how nice that is. I learned all about it a student in CT going to fish braais. We were poor and the one mate was a spear fishing dude so we ate lots of fish.

I stil use the Lemon Butter & Apricot Jam basting to this day on fish. Durbanites are not the biggets fish braaiers but when they taste that they are speechless and line up for seconds.
