So i made a switch to Android from IOS...

I too wish the Android UI was more responsive. Even on fresh factory boot it has this lag between menus and apps that is admittedly annoying. And I've had my fair share of Android bugs on multiple devices. If you haven't then you just aren't using it to the same extent :p

Currently using a Note 2 though which is a great phone.

With my Xperia S if I installed to many apps that run constantly it would slow down but that is a ram/cpu issue.

Wait for the Samsung Alpha if you dont like strong, light plastic.

Still have to deal with Samsung's awful touchwiz UI. Nothing more bewildering and stutter prone than touchwiz...

Get a Sony indeed, or HTC. Their UI's are infinitely better and more useful.

I believe the lag is because of the Android RT layer and JAVA? Something that will never really go away without serious hardware specs.

Case in point, if I press my home screen button right now to get to the pattern unlock there is a 1-2 second delay. And this phone is so stock I still have the service provider background and default ringtones on it. Hardly anything third party except whatsapp on it.

Navigating between certain settings menu's also delays a bit.

It's not serious of course but it would be nice to have a "fluid motion" experience on the phone.

What phone?

Eish.. I've been hesitant to move to android after using my gfs laggy S3. Hearing things still haven't changed in the new models is giving me second thoughts..

As an example. Keep pressing "settings" and "back". Settings and back. See how well the phone keeps up... is yours instant?

My iPad has started lagging quite badly after 2 years. Not like I have lots of apps open either, so it's not just an Android thing. OSes start doing this after a while...

keeps up :)

I found the home button is a bit faster as it does not have that delay while waiting for a 2n'd tap.

All I can suggest is go into developer options and decrease your animation speed to about .5x

As has been pointed out a gazillion times - get a Vanilla Android phone. Problem solved. Completely different experience.

Only now with Kitkat is Android getting just about on par with iOS's fluidity.

I had high hopes in that dept for windows phone too, but I don't understand why it's necessary for me to wait 4 - 5 seconds or more to open the camera, whatsapp or some other apps.

Crack

It's not serious of course but it would be nice to have a "fluid motion" experience on the phone.

This pretty much sums it up for me, the freezing/lagging/stuttering is not serious, but would be nice to have a phone with this amazing specs to have a fluid motion.
If i was not used to the iphone, perhaps i would not have noticed it. O well, im stuck with it now.

On a different note, i did not want to mention this as i thought you guys will say im just trolling, but i promised you this happened this morning, my screen just cracked, i did not bump it or drop it, i promise you i opend the flip cover and there is a +- 1cm hairline crack in the phone, i suspect its the new cover i got it yesterday which put to much pressure on the phone's screen, i simply cannot think what else could have caused it.
Problem now is, i do not have a invoice for this phone, but its active on ADH and only about 5 months old, will they repair the screen without an invoice?. Im so angry at this whole scenario i can feed hungry sharks black mamba's, cheap ass bloody cover.
i got a quotation from Ifix, R2700 for a new screen, that's more than this phone is worth -__-

If it's on ADH just contact samsung via chat support and they will tell you where to go.

Aah sweet!!, i'll try this tomorrow before the beer fest :D

Thanks!

Buddy of mine @ work took his S4 to a samsung place for a screen repair.
He cracked the screen, I suggested ADH, He loaded ADH and took it in about a week later.
Guy took it, fixed it and gave it back to him on the spot. he waited (about 45 minutes in and out free of charge).
