So I went to Capitec

It's their new international Mastercard fee. I didn't think that Takealot would trigger it, but Amazon would.
It's random, because apart from currency conversions there's no way to tell if something is an international or local purchase.

Capitec is the only bank I know that has a better mobile app than their internet banking. Does anybody know why their internet banking is still so terrible? I've last seen a website that old-fashioned around the early 2000's. I mean it can't be for a lack of money or development capacity, so what's the reason?

Oh, it's to terrible, worse than that FNB site of gloriousness, I love form over function.

Bro, be real. You're saying Capitec's website is better than FNB's? How?
I log in to Capitec's IB I instantly see my accounts. With FNB you have to login, accept a phishing scam warning and then you can navigate to your bank accounts before you actually see them. That's two extra clicks for one thing.

Bro, then you should stop using a potato as a PC. I have never had an issue with the FNB website.
It's not just with PCs. Capitec I can use anywhere even on a feature phone. It doesn't have those unneeded flashy dropdowns. It's also not about the PC as you missed the part where I said I had to use another browser. I may prefer a more rudimentary and safer browser but FNB breaks those things for me, and then it just looks terrible as well.

Grats Capitec.

I took out an FNB account, but I'm thinking of going back to Capitec. It seems that international deposits work out cheaper with Capitec (R150 vs R195 from FNB).

Larger international purchases are also cheaper: If I purchase something from Amazon for R1000, Capitec will charge me R3, whereas FNB will charge me R27.50 (2.75%).

To top it off, FNB charge me R99 per month, while Capitec charges me R5 and gives me interest.
