So I went to Capitec

Today is the first time I'm really annoyed at Capitec. Their current social media person is just a bot, basically.

I bought a game off Steam, but the game went through my card instead of my wallet, so I got a refund on it - this was 22 August.

Today, 14 days later, it's still on "Unprocessed", and I have no access to this money.

So I ask them on social media to help me, I give the reference and everything. They reply with:

Hi, have you reported the matter to be escalated? please contact Client Care on 0860 10 20 43 to further investigate or visit your nearest Capitec bank branch.

Then I ask why they can't escalate it. Then they reply with the same message.

First time I've felt you get what you pay for.

I think capitec has gotten to big to quickly. Last week was the first time I had a bad experience. I was unable to transfer money the app was claiming I was over my limit even though I know i wasn't. The call center was useless and twitter helped even less. I think it time to pay real fees and move to a real bank.

I would probably go to a branch.

They getting new UI for their internet banking from 17 September. Finally.

The app notified me today that immediate EFTs are now available. Anyone knows what they charge for them?

Saw the same notification on the app.

Couldn't find anything about the immediate payment fee on the website, so tried a test payment on the app and it asks to confirm immediate payment at a fee of R10.

R10 is not bad at all, was expecting a lot more comparing to FNB. Thanks for the info.

Tangent to to the topic, but why do shopping centres install parking payment systems which don't accept cards? Kenilworth in CT just started paid parking, but only takes cash.

My CNP activated Capitec debit card has worked everywhere except toll gates (credit card only) and EA's Origin store (Capitec flagged it as gambling).

Yeah the parking thing boggles my brain and one of the reasons I avoid malls at all costs.

Maybe it's a money laundering thing. Easy system to hide the numbers.

We need to ask the question why banks delay EFT transfers to other banks? Then they charge a premium for a 'pay and clear' service. Surely the delay is a self made problem that can be overcome, so why should a EFT charge plus a premium be paid for something that should be instant anyway?

Same as why is there a delay of days between my customer swiping his credit card in my store to the money being in my business bank account.

I have always said the banks slow things down so they intentionally sit with the money longer.

With Capitec, If I EFT from any other bank to Capitec today before 3pm, the money will show in my Capitec account before 8pm. No other bank reflects an incoming, different bank EFT until at least just past midnight the following day. Crooks!

A quick Google gave me nothing, can anyone remember if Capitec ever commented on the fact that they don't offer business accounts and whether they will in future?
I'm gatvol of FNB getting the worste service ever, I heard to stay far far away from Netbank business accounts and in general I don't like Absa or Standard.
