so openweb...

ah ok.. so your one of the 1% in SA who are happy with openweb and all of sudden you think they do nothing wrong. in the forums he is all polite etc. and in email he gets very cocky and acts like his company is blameless in everything they do. and all of a sudden also when you email them with problems.. it's NEVER their fault. it's your own problem you must fix it. and telkom should have a look at your line, telkom has been at my house 4 times already and they said there is nothing wrong with my line. i am still waiting for that moron that is suppose to come back to me who said there was a problem with my account and he was supposed to do tests... and i still haven't gotten ANY feedback from openweb till date regarding that topic. this is what you get when it's the only ISP who offers "helpdesk" support when no one is at home to address their problems.. when everyone is at work. so when you get home and need helpline support... guess what ? NONE! cause they are all sitting on their behinds at home!!!!

all other isp's have a 24/7 helpline... oh no not openweb. their "help"line is from 8:30 till 16:30 (as they state it) but you can forget to get a phone answered anytime from 15:45 abouts then the lines either just ring and no one picks up... or you get the message that their lines are off etc blah blah blah.

and about me seeing him face to face ? i dare him to still be as cocky then. i dunno why the hell i decided to go with openweb in the first place. i was prolly unconcious at the time. cause you pay a ISP to render you a service and instead you get nothing. you get a connection that only works half the time, not nearly at the speed they stated it would, you have to refresh webpages 5/6+ times more often than not just to get them to load completely. even just a simple text forum/message board. and then he says he cant "fabricate" reasons as to why it's not working. he blames telkom for it. well.. telkom has been at my house 4 times already. and i know the guy by name now. and they cant find a problem with the line at all.. which i knew was going to happen. cause i had NO problem when i was with telkom. but the moment i started with openweb the problems started rolling in. and their "help"line tells you to phone telkom and get help from them.. (on the odd chance of like 1 in 1000 you actually get to talk to someone)
or something stupid like "reset your router" i wonder if these monkeys are even qualified. or the ONCE i got so someone that said their is a problem with my account after i explained the situation to him.. he takes down my name and number... says he'll do tests and phone me back with the results.. and i am still waiting. this was over a month ago. this is the "oh so brilliant" service your state your getting from openweb. i must be using some pirated version of the ISP not the real one it seems.

I just read this thread and honestly couldn't decide if I should be bored or angry about not only the OP but ALL of you. Hey, Ryzzhan quite obviously has a problem with OW, and he addressed it here, in this forum, where it belongs. His style and attitude is questionable, okay, but let's keep in mind he was angry. And in anger we often say unpolite things.
And then, after venting off, he gets responses from the OW fanclub, people who are answering in the same unreasonable silly style.

So it's clear that with technical probs they just can't do much to help. They can forward your affairs to IS and Telkom, that's pretty much all.

Helpline? What for? I decided to buy some bandwith from OW to test them out. I did so for mainly one reason: Because Keoma is available! He's an avid forum member and one of the very few reps who actually respond to our postings and PMs. So **** the OW helpline and address him personally. And he WILL help you ... as long as possible. Of course he can't help much with faulty conections but give you hints and point you into the right direction.
At least be fair and address him personally before making your probs public ... particularly in this offensive tone. If you think he's an ********* please be reasonable enough to provide us (the public) with examples instead of just blindly starting a flamewar!



Oh, that reminds me, my Access voucher is running out and I need to order new bandwith. Will choose OW. Good prices and easy to order, so they are my choice.
 
well, the simple fact is, that nobody else has experienced what the OP claims. What does that tell you?

We asked him to list the sites here... but he was more interested in trashing OW and insulting us.

We don't have time for idiots like that.... other than to make fun of them.
 
My reaction and attitude may or may not be questionable. but childish reactions I've seen written here so far like some overhyped teenager wanted to correct my spelling now ? sad indeed.. and yes i am angry. and Keoma available ? i dont think so. he is quick to reply yes. but he doesnt get any results. this is not the first time i've complained about the service. he also had me do tracer t's to 4 websites if i remember correctly.. and he told me he'd forward to IS, whatever.. now he asked me for the same thing almost and i'll tell you what the result is going to be. again.. no result. no word from him or any of his so-called "support" staff. and frankly i am seriously fed up with this pathetic service, this is not service. not close to it.

support staff taking down your number after telling you there is a problem with the account and then never getting back to you ? the CEO having you do tracer t's and he forwards those (apparently) to IS ?? ;/ and you don't hear from either of them ever again ? is this what you call service ?

instead the only thing i do get is answers to questions i never asked from the openweb fan club as one of the above posters put it.. and the interesting part is it's always the same people who jump up to defend OW... coincidence ? i think not.. and i wasn't ever on telkom's case this much. as bad as their service got, they went to the trouble of ACTUALLY doing something and sorting your problem out. they are serious (compared to openweb) and actually have a helpline that is available when their clients get home from work so they can sort their internet out so they can actually enjoy what they pay for. see the thing is.. according to Keoma.. his company (himself and his staff) are never wrong... they are blameless and never make mistakes cause they "Tested it on their side"

see Keoma the problem is, you where bloody quick on the sales.. but like a 2nd hand car salesman, your after sale service is nonexistent and you dont care cause you already pocketed the money. and you are way too "friendly" the MyADSL forum when you address me. so people here told me to rather mail you personally. I'll get better results they said. the only thing i got was your sarcasm and your arrogance saying your company is never wrong and i should get telkom to test my line. if you really want i can dig out those emails and make them all public. i saved all of them. the choice is yours. and i know i am a bastid of a client. especially when i don't get the service i payed for. the support i was promised. i am not into sucking up to you. we pay you to deliver a service. we dont pay you so we have to suck up to you while you pocket out money and gives us some half-baked package that hasn't preformed like you said it would... also the interesting part is i never has line speed issues with telkom.. only since i joined up with you. and telkom has been (as you oh so cleverly suggested) to my house to test my line 4 times - take note.. four times.. and no problem could be found. even you once told me the openbrowse technology is getting old etc (i'll dig out that email too) but yet.. nothing has been done. that is all i am used to from you and your company. empty promises.. some half hearted effort to fake that you somehow give a crap about the people paying you. but otherwise ? you never get back to me. you never follow through to actually find out if my account has improved or if my issues are sorted out. cause you simply dont care. the only thing you care about is getting payed. whether you render the service or not. see your no-refund policy came in quite clever there. you want to get payed.. and even cut off someone's account on the 26th/27'th already if they dont pay you.. but that is where you alertness stays. you don't care about your clients (of course for you obvious OW fanclub on these forums that stand up for you when you yourself have nothing to say)

I personally don’t use openweb so I can not speak for them but in the real world all ISP's have a problem, some more tolerable than others.
Open up an axxess account (no I do not work for them but do love their service, fantastic) with some prepaid Megs that is available for 12 months and if you come across those blocked pages just switch over......
You get what you pay for unfortunately.

WELL now that telkom has capped me after using up my miserable 1 gig (no longer giving grace 1,5 gig) this is all on local, I have 10 gig to blow !!!!
so 10 k is a drop in the bucket
 
Hi Everyone.

I'm a newbie on the whole ADSL arena.
I have just received my ADSL Line, and want to sign up for the R1299 special from OW.

Can somebody tell me if this is the best option available at the moment? I would really want the 4Mbps speeds they claim after 8PM. Is OW a good choice, or should i be looking at someone else in light of the fact of the issues logged by the user?
