Hi guys,

I urgently need a Socket 478 motherboard, it must be able to take 2x 512mb PC2700 CL2.5 memory chips as well as a 2.53GHz 512/533/1.525v CPU.

I know it's hard to find this type of motherboard, but I'm asking.
It can come with onboard graphics if need be or with a AGP slot.

I know I should use the classifieds section, but I'm going this route because it's very urgent and yeah.

Thanks guys!

I have 1 or 2 lying around at home. I'm in Pinetown so it's going to cost you a bit. Only packaging and postage.

I will have to check them out first though.

Or rather go for the one at Corex, where ever they are.

Will my memory work in this board, as well as my CPU, please confirm!
Can you find out if they have stock?

I'm desperate, so whoever can honestly sort me out the fastest will get the money etc.
Please guys, just make sure it can take the CPU and memory!

I think you have ddr333/400, and the board uses ddr2 so it won't work, if there is stock why don't u also replace the ram.

Well mh348, easy to answer, because this is for a work PC.
I'll be paying for the motherboard myself as well as anything else, and I'd rather keep the 'money spent' to a minimal.
Basically, I've been nagging for a upgrade for like, ever and it keeps getting turned down, I need this upgrade, the parts are from a server which kicked some serious butt.
If I can avoid spending anymore than I have too, that's my plan.

The PC I'm working on now is so slow that I want to slit my wrists some days so yeah.

If I could get the money refunded, I'd be in heaven, but yeah.
See my problem... at least I'm making an effort.

My motherboard went - so I'm also looking for a Socket 478 motherboard because I sit with a P4 3.0Ghz and enough DDR400 ram to last me a lifetime, and a nice AGP 3D card...

Still looking - the online shops that have the DDR400 versions, was last updated in about 2004/5/6 :/. NGR Computers sells a DDR2 version though (I can't buy from Core:().

If you need to buy from a place ld13 and you KNOW they have stock, call KABTECH on 072 419 8577 tomorrow and speak to Kevin, he can probably buy from Core, yes, he'll probably put a few bucks on the item, but at least you'll get what you want - I've asked him to help me too, but I didn't ask him if he could get the item from suppliers, I probably should ask him now! :D

How much are you willing to pay?

I have an old gigabyte that fits your provided spec. Problem is that it has some busted caps (which can obviously be fixed). You can have the board for free

Hi guys,

Sorry, could not get around doing this as yet. SWAMBO kept me busy with other things. Will try tonight.
