Some SLI questions...

I sometimes feel that it would be cheaper to just fly to America or Dubai and buy my hardware there :D

Yeah know what you mean. I was thinking last night...

If I had R76k to buy 20 8800GTX's over seas, came back to SA to sell them at 5k each, I would make R26 000 out of it (excluding airfares and lets leave taxes out of the picture for now..) so maybe make it about 20k profit at most

BUT! If I had that much money to actually do that then I would more then likely not even need that 20k because id probably be rolling in a vast amounts of money anyway..

Thats just me.

And Customs would RAPE you at the airport when you got back, if you tried not to declare them.

My plan would be to take 20 boxes with cheap cards in them with me, then return with 20 GTX's

Im sure as hell they wouldnt know the difference ;)

So basically youre saying, as a tourist, the airports tax people on their OWN cameras that they take into another country?
Ive never heard of that

So when you leave the country you would have to declare the 20 cards, and then when you come back, as long as they don't open the boxes and check that the cards don't match, you should be fine...

well... no, largely because there's a "buffer" which is R10 000 here, and i don't no about other countries, but they should be around the same area,

add if they do, this is south africa, give the man R500 and he will let yo7u threw with a smile

ya... well R500 is some what the going price nowa days, and i don't think you really want to short change the guy thats letting you threw with R20 000's worth of electronics

of course they don't tax people on their personal possesions when they leave a country. However, you would prolly have a real hard time trying to explain that 20 gfx cards are for personal use.
