Looking for something to manage my pc's at home.

Teamviewer and windows 10 keeps on crashing, I can maybe log in 3 times a day then it stops working.

Any suggestions? must be free.

Odd, I haven't had any issues with Teamviewer crashing and I use Win 10 and Mac OS.

What about RealVNC?

I also haven't had any issues with TeamViewer on Windows 10.

You can try RealVNC or Anydesk.

Security concern?

There can be security holes in any application / protocol.

OP didn't mention anything about remote management - but if that is the case I wouldn't expose any protocol other than VPN of some description externally.

I use Chrome Remote Desktop - originally just switched from TeamViewer because of a very minor annoyance (it kept changing the background slideshow to whatever was the current image only), but very happy with the ease of use from an Android tablet

Yeah, but that's what cuts out RDP and vnc. Once you start opening up ports on your router , it's a problem.

I used chrome remote desktop for a while, but then forgot about it

Allow network ingress via say OpenVPN on a non-standard port - and make sure to keep the software up-to-date and you should be fine.

Reload Windows. Check hardware.

I make use of Teamviewer extensively on Windows 7 & 10 Pro without any issues. It's never crashed for me. Neither has Windows 10 in ages.

They all fresh installs.

Explorer.exe tends to crash, keeping in mind all the PC's graphics cards are being maxed out, I think TeamViewer hardware acceleration is making it crash.

Odd. Works fine on default settings. Sounds like the mining is affecting it somehow.
