Exactly. Look for example at Magda's tweets (CEO of Sygnia) and many in this thread. She's basically losing all credibility by already acting as a Cyril sycophant. Apparently she had tears in eyes after SONA.

Perhaps next week's budget might get people to re-focus.

I'm interested to see if he is going to continue breaking with the ICC, whether he will allow scum like Grace and Bashir into the country and whether he will allow the Dali Lama to visit.

If it's a no, no and yes then we may be heading in the right direction.
 
Impossible, a juggernaut does not simply change direction because a new captain is at the helm.

I get irritated at people jumping on the main steam media bandwagon. Everyone is so happy Zuma stepped down and the new president sounds so much better. Fools! Zim is still run by Zanu-PF and the criminal that ruined the country came off scot free, just like Zuma will come of scot free - and the wreckage he left in his wake will just be forgotten.

The Nats - those guys who implemented apartheid, ended up unbanning the ANC amongst others when a new captain was at the helm.

Yes, they had little choice - the ANC have little choice if they want investment, ratings and global support.

It's people who moan when Zuma is at the helm and moan even more when he steps down who are irritating, we have a new President who inspires hope on most SouthAfricans, even the opposition are hopeful That they will work together with him to make South Africa a better place. While it is understandable that some people will never be happy until the ANC is out of power, fact is this is not yet the time, let's wait for 2019 and see what happens, but until then excuse those of us who are finding a reason to be hopeful and inspired by the current state of affairs.

Zim 2.0, that's what we were supposed to be when Zuma refuses to step down and becomes our first dictator, it still hasn't dawned on some that the doomsday prophecies just don't seem to come true.

Because for example sake Botha and De Klerk are not scot free (you know small stuff like human rights violations, death squads & co...)?

There is nothing to arrest Zuma legally as of today (Ramaphosa does not make court orders you know?), it might come or not (I surely hope it does) but the country is anyway better without him at the helm and has better prospects and a better international reputation.

Credit where it's due. You miss the chaos and outrage that followed. Admit it! :D

The speech was a complete turnaround from what we got accustomed to. It left many with renewed hope. There's a chance the budget speech is going to leave many bitter, but what options are there given the state our coffers are in? I don't blame her for being emotional. That speech added a few thousands to her portfolio :D

Right now, there are charges that are under representation.

Since the conditions for representation have been complied with, there are no legal reasons to put him preventively in jail.

It’s actually 18 charges linked to 783 transactions (not 783 charges).

Even if it was possible, it would subject to a bail (or not), and not a sentence. Jailing JZ right now is a very good idea to destroy the country by splitting the ANC (a top 6 without zulus...) and reignite tensions. It’s reckless and stupid at best.
