Sonic Wireless

Ask support to disable your cambium QQS it might be what is having that affect since with the VPN it cant classify your traffic they installed cambium by me but when i found out contention ratios where causing my issues i asked them to remove that stuff asap cambium sucks balls for gaming.

My Cambium QOS is disabled so I don't think it's that

*update:
Got a call from their support, telling me to call them when I'm playing the game so they can see what's happening.

Got confirmation at least from Support that there are issues connecting to the D3 server and that they have some engineers looking at it

But it works when you go through vpn?

I'm no expert on networking (so feel free to correct me) but my guess is because it's the VPN connecting to the D3 server, and my local internet only needs to sufficiently connect to the VPN. In the same way I can't access https://us.battle.net/d3/en/ at work due to restrictions, but I can through VPN.

I'm thinking of switching from my current WISP to them.

My current WISP runs very well, but don't offer high speeds. From what I read here, the 10Mbps package is actually a 4Mbps package with bursting to 10Mbps. Is this right?

When does the bursting happen and for how long? We don't download a lot, but we stream a lot as it's our primary way of watching T.V.

Any feedback would be welcome.

Thanks.

I'm on the 5M package and it feels pretty much at 5M all the time whenever I use it. I've done around 100GB this month, mostly streaming and gaming (with the occasional torrent).

Could someone maybe explain the installation process for a home package ?

Not sure what you mean but with me they came out for a LOS evaluation, then a few days later they came and set up a dish/router/network.

For me there was no LOS evaluation, they asked on the phone for my address, checked it against there database i presume and said all good to go, they came 2 days later and installed. Works like a charm.

Hi Guys

So I have decided to try out Sonic since Telkom have no free ports available for me, so I cant move my line (just moved house). Anyone know whether I am likely to get a good signal in Belgravia (Athlone)? I am interested in getting the 5mb capped option (R700 is my budget right now). it comes with a 50GB cap which is fine as I don't do much torrenting, or streaming. it's mostly for online gaming via PS4. thanks

Ok so they indicated via email that my area has coverage, and after filling in the forms, confirmed survey and installation for this coming Monday. Fingers crossed!!
