To show up? Or get back to you after the initial testing? Guessing the weather today isn't really helping either.

to show up. they couldn't complete the installation yesterday, assured me they will come back today. I understand that the weather may have an impact, but then they should let me know when I can expect them.

Besides it's not raining now, it's just a little bit windy ;-)
 
I am very disappointed with the service we have received from Sonic Wireless. I still haven't heard anything from them since Thursday. I am going to ask them to come and remove their equipment and then I will try LTE for awhile.
 


Thanks to Adriaan from Sales, Bryan and his team for doing the proper installation, I finally have proper internet again :-)

Telkom just killed my line today...probably because today was the original appointment that they automatically assigned even though I requested Thursday for cut off and Friday for new install on the other side.

Needless to say nobody updated their **** and now I have ZERO internet....but it was so piss poor the last few days that I can hardly tell the different anyway.

I can't even remember if I ever had such a solid internet connection in like FOREVA!!!

I am very impressed with Sonic Wireless, except for the installation issues, the support and feedback have been excellent!

Last night I really put my connection to the test. I decided to download Tomb Raider and Dishonored on steam (its been sitting there since summer sale I couldn't download it with ADSL, cause it would have taken forever!) well needless to say it is done!!! 20GB downloaded in one night!! and to top it all off it's been raining all night! no issues :-)

Just to clear things up with the service to Dominoza.
The dish we used had a factory fault,nothing to do with the install or our service,we couldn't get a proper signal even though we got -62dbi with site survey .

Also we cant work in the rain and wind because of safety issues.
Sorry for not calling you over the weekend but we only work in the week,unless otherwise arranged.And we fully booked 1.5 - 2 weeks in advance.

Happy for you that you didn't send us away before we could rectify the problem ,because you would've missed out on the best internet in Cape Town!
 
Not so great unfortunately :-(

It seems that the guys who did the survey test, screw up big time! When they did the installation the best signal they could get was -78db's

but the guys doing the site survey got between -62 and -64 db's.

They are coming back today to see if they can sort this out :-(

I am now stuck on 3G, cause my ADSL is useless.



Factory fault on the dish,nobody screwed anything up!

The guy doing the installation the first time said that the the site survey guys screwed up. I was just going on the information I was given. But yes to clear things up it seems that Sonic Wireless definitely is the best Internet in Cape Town :-)

Been with SonicWireless a while now still no complaints and 99.8% Uptime just had about 12minutes downtime during my stay with them otherwise full 10MBps bliss even hosting my own ARK Server supporting around 55 players and no lag to them unless i hammer my download speed of course :)
 
Sergie do you perhaps have login details to your equipment to check for interference? also if you PM me your IP address i can try run a traceroute from my CPE to you to see if the problem lies with your install or congestion to your tower you connect to as this should help the support guys greatly
 
Hey willsotaku, unfortunately I don't have the login details of my equipment,
I just have access to a read only mode where I can check the signal strength and monitor traffic.
The support guys are trying to help and fixed some latency issues I had last week but the speed fluctuation problem remains since the beginning of July.
Thanks for your help, will pm you my IP shortly.
