I'm 100% sure that the N95 is the right phone to buy. I can get the P990 for free. The N95 is going to cost me R1499. You really think I will pay that for a N95 if I'm not sure that it is better than the P990?

I prefer my Nokia 8800 over the P990. :D

I've decided I'm going for the TYTN due to my new job as it offers everything I'm looking for e.g. Push email, Word, Excel, GPS only thing is I'll have to get my own GPS receiver, the added bonus is that I can have most of my work apps integrated into the phone which will really help me out at the end of the day

Web browsers?

To get away from the nokio debate...

What web browsers are people using on the P990? The one that ships with the phone seems quite flaky and slow even on 3G.

Also are there other apps that people are using besides SwissMgr that people can strongly recommend.

Much better choice than the N95 - enjoy! :)

The N95 is not a business phone & while it is nice to have a 5MP camera, etc, the novelty wears off quickly and you'll be using it less & less.

What you really will need & use, is a full keyboard + touchscreen when writing emails, creating Word/Excel docs/spreadsheets and surfing the web. The stylus acts as your mouse - how the hell do you surf the web with just a keyboard? Madness.

There is no disputing that the N95 is highly spec'd and its a good phone... but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is superior... The N95 is not targeting the Smartphone Arena... but more the multimedia arena...
Bosting 5 Megapixel cam and storage up to 2GB expansion.

In my opinion if you are planning to use this as a smartphone you will find it clumsy and tiresome to manouvre the OS... there are countless reviews from the guys overseas who rave about this phone however the one thing that stands out is that its OS and transitions between screens is slow and buggy... not unlike the 990...

This thread has always been unbias and open to discussion... however I would suggest you keep your unfounded jabs and illinformed comments for the N95 Thread...

I am sure the King and his Knights will back me up here... This thread is for SE and P990 fans, which we all are, and no peasant from the Nokia realm will change our minds...

In my humble opinion, with Resource Management improved firmware, the 990 will be the excalibar of phones... UNTOUCHABLE! :)

On another note... with a name like Piesang it stands to reason that you would be a fan over Nokia and it's antique Banana Phone... If you are in any way like your nokia counterpart, it explains allot.......

I loaded opera mini and it OK for general browsing, better than what the phone came with, which i believe was an earlier version of opera mini anyway.
 
Broken Crystal Case

My case gave up the ghost, came apart. Now I am using it without any case/cover. Its nice to use like this, but I am worried about damage.

There's no need to get personal Nixxon. What I say in this forum is my personal opinion. My experience with the P-series SE phones is not good that's why I dont like the P-series phones. I've had much better experiences with Nokia phones. I do lots of research before I choose to get myself a new phone. I'm not trying to change anyones mind about which phone you should like.

And yes, I had one of those Nokia phones thats shaped like a banana. It was just a normal phone like all the other phones at that time. Nothing major now but it was then.

Untouchable, yes, your right. I wont touch the P990.

And just incase you didn't read the post thorougly, there is no need to get personal. If you want to get personal feel free to send me a PM. That is if you are old enough to use the internet by yourself.

For those who use Word / Excel have a look at Documents to Go. It supports all the word formatting that the bundled quickword doesn't ! Really superb

Oh, and there's a rumoured major firmware release on 2 April ( hopefully not April fool's joke ! )....

Much improved memory management and disabled transitions

Still happy with mine, but a bit frustrated that we as (SE) customers must be part of their debugging process.

You have been gone too long... The original posters in this forum have been very quite... I myself have said very little but remain glued to this thread...

Some interesting news for all of you on the Webcam front for the P990... I am currently busy with a US company BETA testing there UIQ 3 release... So when its done and dusted I will post again so if anyone is interested they can have a look...

@ Piesang: As for your comments above... I suggest you re-read my post and allow me to break it down for you... From your name I re-inforced you being a Nokia Fan by reffering to the nokia Banana phone... And Merely stated that if you are in any way like the Banana phone then you are outdated!!!

Once again get your facts straight before you make unfounded comments... especially in this thread where people actually take the time to post valuable comments...

So please, if your aim is to irritate... you have succeeded, now go back to the nokia thread and irritate everyone over there...
