Check the FW version, would be interesting to see if SE gave you the latest.

Sounds like you are just 1 version behind. Organizer is now R4B03.

Yes, that was only a minor upgrade.

I just don't have the strength to go through the whole update process for one or two bugfixes - I'd rather wait for the next major upgrade.

I agree. R4B03 did have some minor improvements and bug fixes.
 
I've got to say, I truly love my phone. If I could afford to, I'd purchase a small S60 nokia for 'size convenience' when I go clubbing or something, but I'm also starting to drool over the Nokia E90 I think it is - love my P990i but that phone is looking SOOOO good!

I got a Motorola V3 Razr on a MyCall 100 contract (R79 a month) for evenings out & when I go to the gym - my P990i stays at home... :)
 
Hi guys I have a Problem I've Select Control panel-->Connections-->Internet Accounts-->click the arrow at top of Internet Account screen-->Options-->Preferred Mode-->Select CS only.

The blue GPRS triangle above my signal strength indicator is not blanking out.
Seriously chowing my battery.

Good to see you have your phone back. I dropped my phone serious ding on the top:( Know of any panel beaters :D

Restart? Then you can also do a bit of 'extreme' P990i memory management! :)
 
Come on, SonyEriccson!!

Where is the firmware that will stop the phone from restarting, fix the auto focus on my camera & sort out the memory leaking!? :mad:

Thanks Gecko it is now working - Reinstalled to later version of PC Suite. You were right about the rebooting and waiting for the auto connection wizard. I get the occassional "734 error the PPP link control protocol was terminated". Any clues there?
 
My P990i must be the 'fastest' phone on the planet! :)

It has just restarted itself again half an hour ago 'in order to improve performance'. :mad:

I had no apps open when my phone restarted itself. The 'phone restarted to improve performance' message is basically the P990i's BSOD (blue screen of death) - software 'crash'.

It mostly happens when I want to answer an incoming call - EXTREMELY irritating. :mad:
 
Finally!

Just got mine back with the real SE firmware(not that vodafone/vodacom crap stuff they kept reinstalling at vodaworld), thanks to vodacare tygervalley for their fast and efficient service. I'm so happy - its soooooo much faster :D and seems to work better

BTW: did anyone notice that if you plug your charger directly into your phone you can still connect the handsfree to the charger plugin to listen to the radio etc whilst it is charging or use the usb cable connection instead - Good thinking SE:cool:
 
hey rob this new software is GREAT !.... totally in love with this phone still
 
wondering what the "line 2" is used for or how can I utilize this "line 2" functionality?? I would love if I can have 2 numbers on 1 sim card which I what I guess this is supposed to be for??
