Sony Ericsson P990i

Well hopefully I will have one the next time I visit the 'Burg.
(I have a meeting scheduled there next week Monday, so the guys at MTN better hurry up!)

I went to Southdowns, Irene, this morning, to pick up my Walkman earphones. Guess what? Neither MTN nor Vodacom has any stock. :sick:
 
Why do suppliers always struggle with stock? If there's a demand of something they should order a large number of those items to be able to support the demand. I guess they just don't want to take the risk of not moving the stock quickly enough, but it is frustrating to the consumer.

Contacts & SMS

I have a problem where smsses that arrive don't show the contacts name and when I try and reply to a sms I get an error message: Message incomplete, access denied. Does anybody know what's going on? :confused:

Have you recently updated your firmware? That sounds like a firmware update that didn't install properly.

First do a master reset of the phone - that might sort it out. Just be aware that all mailboxes, contacts, etc. will be deleted.

If you still receive error messages, format internal hard drive and update phone again.

I ave had my P990i since the begining of December. The phone is crap!

Currently it is back in for repairs. This time the flip has just stopped working, First it was only the main button, then a few days later, it was all the buttons.

I have done updates over the internet, this made phone slower and slower. I would turn its self off, re-start and tell me something about t needed to restart to fix something ... piece of cr@p is you ask me ...

Now I am using my Nokia 6680 again. Phone has worked for 2 years without a hitch, and looks like it is going to have to work for another 2 ... :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I backed up the phone and ran update again. All's fine now. Thanks kingrob!

I'm sad to hear about your P990i experience - sounds like you got a factory-reject phone. :eek:

It happens, even with Nokios. :rolleyes:

If anyone is looking for the crystal case I have one which is brand new in the box... I literally put it on, didn't like it and pulled it off...

No update yet

I tried to update this morning using SEUS 2.7.5.5 . It detected that I needed an update but just installed the latest R5 firmware which I already had for world generic 2.
