Sony Ericsson P990i

A spinal surgery course...am specialising in neurosurgery...the course teaches how to do spinal fusions...;)

So now you all know...I'm a 'quack' :p but technology / IT is my other great interest... so here I am ...:p

( That's why I don't post sometimes, not that I'm ignoring you guys :( but have been in theatre / the wards all day ...)

Heh, actually I got the name cos I was thinking " now what name can I post under ?" ( this was when I started posting on esato ) and I was looking for something totally NOT what I do ...y'know ? Something utterly anonymous...

and that album by Jethro Tull popped into my mind. So ! :)

Had a Krussell for my P910i, but I write too much on my screen and started using the SE one - not great, but does the job.

But off course - but only the queen can wear *bling* with her phone, otherwise my humble servants will start calling me the *bling* king & his *bling* kingdom.

That will not be tolerated.
 
Aqualung, I want to order stuff from Brando.

When I click on an item and proceed to checkout, it immediately asks for my payment method, I select MasterCard & put in my Standard Bank card details - but then I get a Standard Bank secure payment activation popup, asking me to register for secure payment. This looks a bit dodgy to me...

They havent even asked for my shipping address, or does that come after they've received payment?

DomL is much more organized!
 
Yes I did see that pop-up window...I'm with Nedbank...but as I recall I didn't have to use it to get to 'checkout'

yeah I think it does ask for the postal address after payment details...

I think their server gets overwhlemes sometimes...therr's a mesage to that effect on the site...then you have to try again later...I have not been double-billed by them though :)

( lots of overseas forumites use brando.hk and it was listed on some pda site as one of the 100 most reliable electronic shopping sites...I did research this before I bought from them )

Wanted to get the silicone cover for my P910i, but it looks like a condom pulled over the poor phone!

Advice please.

Does anybody maybe know how to import a VPN policy from Windows, so that it will work on the P990?

@Bruce000 - sorry I did not mean to sound curt, been very busy at work and not had time for lengthy posts the last few days :o

I agree with everything Gecko says in his post...you won't be sorry you get this phone ! ( You're getting it tomorrow aren't you ? ;) ) Even my colleagues at work who aren't really into smartphones have cast a longing eye on it...

Post when you get it ( I'm sure you will ! ) and if you have any queries about installing software etc will do my best to help ;)

@ kingrob...I sense a sudden ...capitulation ( must be the purchase of the P990 screen protector ) Not long to go !

PS will be on a course Thurs / Fri so will only be online A/H then !

P.S. try mobile9.com there are some stunning wallpapers ( it's all free ) look under the 'abstract' section in particular . Render exquisitely on the P990 !

No problem thanks for the invitation I will take you up on it. I contacted them this morning. She said she needed to track it and will get back to me. Can't help but have a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. I have these horrible thoughts like they gave it to someone else:sick:

Just as I Thought, the flippin phone is still sitting in Kokstad:confused: , It was delivered there on Friday last week. They said one of their reps will be cumming down Monday or Tuesday. So i phone them today and receive the GOOD news. So I told her why don't you guys just courier it down. Its not that far about 140 km's away. I almost offered to pay, but decided to shut my mouth. She phoned me back and said they will be couriering it down. They will be picking it up today. Couriering it down tomorrow and i will have my phone on Friday:) (No sense of urgency down her on the coast). Lets see what happens.
