Yes, I found it not that obvious. And I'm not sure whether official SE themes are write-protected or not.. I only once tried to create my own theme, but soon gave up. Too much effort!
im missing my p990
you might recall it recieved water damage... and i went the iphone route...
well im missing my p990, and im not sure what it is. the iphone has INSANELY superiour screen and computing speed. its just so damn fast. takes awesome pics, its a flippen ipod too... 8 gigs for a phone is insane... but its lost the plot somewhere and i cant put my finger on it. sure it has a couple of missing features eg cant send contacts, no light on cam, no 3g only edge... but i can really forgive apple for that, being their first EVER phone. hats off to apple. but its missing something my SE smartphones had and i dont know what it is. the iphone is definately a workhorse. you cant scratch the screen. incredible imap email. great email attachment reader. i dunno...
anyways im seriously considering passing the iphone onto my wife, and coming back to SE. i think i will go P1 tho, its definately stronger than the 990

I don't know the iPhone at all. What seemed to stand out in the news articles (and fanboy rants - e.g. digg) I read is
1) Lack of 3G (I love being able to keep my connection active while on a phone call)
2) Lack of custom applications. The range of apps availble on a UIQ or S60 phone is really astonishing.
I think the P1i is a much better phone than the P990, the annoying bugs are gone, or at least I can't see them any more, the memory is now sufficient to run as many apps as you want. I purchased SMP for my P990, but if I got the P1 from the start I would never have bought it, there's simply no reason for it any more.
SE should have taken the early P1 firmware and the upgraded RAM and launched the UIQ3 series with that.

I agree with Valerion. P1 is definitely in another class than the P990i, purely because of the more RAM. The P1 is what the P990 was supposed to be a year ago.
KVI, glad to hear you miss your P990! That tells you something.
I will get an iPhone one day purely for the great gadget it is, and because it is an Apple product. But I will wait until it features HSDPA and support for 3rd party apps and widgets.

Just a silly little setting, with regards to Cell information, I figured out on the P990i. (This is only applicable to MTN).
At the moment, if you've got Cell Information turned on, you will only see 'MTNZONE 50%' or a different percentage. This is for prepaid users and doesn't benefit contract users at all. So how do you get the Cell Information back on your mobile's display, e.g. CENTURION, IRENE, MALMESBURY?
Follow these steps....
Go to Control Panel > Messaging > Area Information.
Untick Cell Information.
Tap on Channels and highlight Channel X. Click on 'edit' and change it to Channel 100.
Now tick Area Information.
There you go...you should be able to see Cell Information like before.
*I just wish I could get rid of the REALLY annoying Y'ELLO BROADBAND' info that pops up occasionally, I use Vodacom HSDPA with my Hauwei E220 modem. Hello MTN?

Ah, ginggs gave me a good tip!
Change the channel to 250 and you won't get the stupid Y'ELLO BROADBAND messages.
Works like a charm.

Yep, I also subscribed to the 'weather channel' (channel 40) and it works a real treat!
Nice new bit on the weather channel is that it gives you the date of the forecast. I remember many moons ago when it did not provide the date, actually that might have been my first phone! You were never sure that the forecast had been updated.

I felt a bit naughty today, so I changed my screen brightness from 70% to 80% .... LOL
