Just a sidenote here, the P990 is not backwards compatible with software from the previous phones in the P-series. All software will require a recompile at least, or maybe even a rework, due to the OS's stricter control on what they are allowed to access and how.
QuickOffice also ships on the P990.
Though seeing an IR / BT printing app for UIQ3 will be awesomeCan you post a link for that, please?

My battery is on about 60% at the end of the day.
I have set the screen brightness at 60% ( more than enough for indoors, as you stated outdoors viewing is virtually impossible ), and , as on my P910, I have switched off the GPRS default connection ( the phone automatically switches it on for browsing, and kills it again on logging off. ) This last step seemed to get me an extra day of battery time on my P910.
I do not at this stage have a 3G SIM card. Apparently searching for 3G signal drains battery faster ...
Agree there is a noticeable ( well a second or two ! ) delay before opening some apps. I personally would be happy with less eye candy and a faster, more stripped down interface.
Hopefully new firmware will allow us to disable the transition effects.![]()
Kingrob, dunno about the CPU being the culprit..is that explained by the fact that video acceleration speeds up the menus ?

Bug found. When on a call...no matter how much I select the speakerphone..it just won't turn on. Can anyone test theirs and tell me if their call is transfered to speakerphone?
Doesn't matter if it is flip open or closed..speakerphone just won't turn on.
have gone into the service menu, and the speakerphone is working..just unable to use it.
Hmm...
