Sony Ericsson P990i

problem is if you dont go the enterprise route you DONT get any attachments... pretty useless then. thats why i mentioned the gmail route, for which you do get attachments.
was using bb on my p910. gave up after a couple weeks. hey that reminds me. i better cancel the subscription :)

If its worth the R150 per month. Your colleague, I assume, is not having to pay for his subscription. I will have too. I like the idea of push email but am not sure if its worth R150. Wont a send and recieve on a schedule do the same thing?

It will but it won't be push - You'll have to do it manually or set it to do automatically via Active Sync

Push is great but the price is a little high

It's a choice at the end of the day if you want high compression ratios and have push on the spot then pay R150 if you can life with Active sync or normal send and receive then I guess there's no real reason why you would want Blackberry connect.

Eish this was a tough one

I agree the price for push is too high. A nice feature to have but the pricing needs to be reviewed. Whats the point of having a service but pricing it out of contention? Maybe this needs to escalated up the channels to get he pricing structure reviewed. For less than that amount per month one can get an entire cell contract with a phone, airtime etc. Seems out of kilter.

@Wynsam

That's the price RIM gives it to us for, we are in the process of working on the Blackberry re tariff but can't say too much at this stage

I don't know about 1.41 (will install it today), but since 1.4 (together with Twin Peaks), the phone is much faster. There's an already great improvement between 1.3 and 1.4. I've read that 1.41 have one bug fix some people have found in 1.40. I wish SE was this responsive.

hbh-ds970 headphones

Any one here using them. Mine come on Monday I am looking forward to trying them out.

I am not paying, but was told that it costs R1199, that seems a little high as i have heard that can go for R899. My SP organised them.

hmmm.. give us some feedback once you've played with it. R899 is a lot of money, but then it's very tempting for geeks like us.

Hi Guys,

I have been using Active Sync for exchange, which you can download from the SE Website Free, with my company which has Active Sync for Windows.

There is an option to select push in the settings and it works a treat... :)
My Calendar, Contacts and Email is permanently Synced everyday :)

So if your company is using Active Sync for Windows for all there PDA/Smartphone connectivity then you win :)

I hope this helps in your debate.

Pity we are not using Active sync. This adds fuel to the fire on RIM's overcharging for their push email service.

:D A cool app to help you resize pictures is Irfan View (aka Iview). You can download it at:

http://www.irfanview.com/

It's got powerful resize and resample features (select resampling when you resize - then you won't get picture distortion)

I've been using this software for the past 4 years. It's freeware.

Resize your photos to 320x240 resolution (320 pixels heigh, 240 wide). That will fit on your background (as wallpaper) precisely 1 to 1.

Hope this helps. (If you need per step instructions how to resize your pictures in Iview, I can PM you the instructions, or share it with this forum.)
