Sony Xperia Z

Battery is more or less the same. Still easily lasts me the entire day and more...I'm tempted to say there is an increase in battery performance....maybe the stamina mode is more efficient.

Regarding the camera...still not that amazing with Superior auto...If you want good looking photos rather use Manual Mode. Might take some getting used to and playing around but once you've got the hang of it you will be able to take pretty decent looking photos!! DOnt understand why Superior auto is so *****.....

4.3 also brings complete UI overhaul which I find somewhat refreshing and the phone feels so damn smooth!!! Project butter I guess. One of my favourite features of the new UI is being able to open multiple/unlimited amounts of small apps.

All and all I think Sony did a good job with this update and almost made my Z feel new.

PS. there is another update out for bug fixes version .101

Where did you pick up that bit of info?

PC Companion doesn't pick it up

Edit - ok, I see the announcement over at xda

Sorry should have mentioned that Im on Generic Nordic version and received it as an OTA and was available on pc companion. Flashed generic Nordic looong time ago since vodacom takes freakin forever to release updates.

Isnt version 101 listed on Sony website as latest version?

My device is not under warranty though, or insured so will have to fork out millions to have it fixed. Any idea on cost, or can I buy an off eBay etc?

I'm thinking of getting a 'ultra' sdcard for my Xperia Z. Is it worth the extra cost? Are higher speed cards supported?

I dont know much about sd cards but Im sure the device supports the higher speed cards but I doubt if it will take the new 128gb sd cards. If i recall correctly it only supports up to 64gb

I see Sony is starting to roll out Kitkat 4.4.2 for the Xperia Z.

I got my Z1 compact last week wednesday, the 1st thing I did was update to 4.4.2 which was available OTA. Maybe because the phone was ordered via Orange in the UK the updates happen on a different schedule?

Kitkat 4.4 is out on Beta. .237 Doomlords leak on Xda. Works perfectly on my Z. 6603

Sorry for double post!!

Kit kat has been released for Xperia Z, finally!

Updated last night, update is 905mb. Cant say for sure yet but phone feels very smooth and responsive and Im liking the new changes to the UI. Camera also seems to open faster.

Hopefully Vodacom wont take so long as they did with the 4.3 update!! I have a generic Nordic firmware on my phone hence the quick availability of the update.
