Sony Xperia Z

Cracked my experia z screen, anyone know where I can get it fixed, besides the R4000+ vodka care, or MTN??
The touchscreen doesn't work either.

I'm in the KZN area.

Cheers

SOrry to hear, mind if I ask how it happened??

Go to the Sony Mobile ZA page on facebook, they will be able to assist you on who to contact and all that.

Thanks for that, had my car keys in my pocket, my kid asked for the keys, took em out and phone followed.
Landed on the corner, and a fine crack appeared.

Mtn is currently offering the tablet z for 399 on a 2gig plan (vodacoms 2gig+2gig night ow; for 399 is still better) BUT MTN is throwing in a free charging dock!! Im sooo tempted to get this...really want a white tablet (to match my white xperia Z) but at this moment I dont mind the black one.

Also over at esato forums there are rumors of a new tablet z successor (even thinner and lighter) with s800 processor and triluminous display being announced with the 'honami' at IFA on the 4th of September....maybe I should hold out until that announcement and see what is announced??? But then again the tablet z has just been released here in SA so even if a successor is announced in september, we wil probably only get it next year January or something like that??

Ah decisions decisions........

The charging dock comes standard with the tablet...

I'll definitely be getting myself one of those camera accessories!

On a side note, had anyone put Cyanogenmod on? I find the Sony firmware pretty clean and decent... I would definitely do it on a Samsung though to get rid of all of that junk! :-D

Nope I havent tried it yet, havent even rooted or unlocked my Z. Im very happy with the stock Sony UI...very clean, minimalistic and good looking :)

I did try it on my older Sony Arc S but not for long, to many updating necessary with all the nightly builds to fix minor bugs and whatnot. There usually is a more stable CM version available but to be honest I did not quite like CM that much. Maybe its different on the Z?? I dont know.

The Xperia z comes with a very basic calculator that doesn't seem to use degrees, but radians (?). Is there any way of configuring the thing?

I got my tablet Z today from vodacom :D very happy!!

It included a charging dock in the box which I thought I will have to buy so this was a very pleasant surprise!!

No SD card included though. But I plan on buying a 64GB SD card doesnt matter anyway.

My Xperia Z fell victim to this common fault: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2304680&page=21

The back glass has lifted on the rear left side from the power button to the camera module, so I doubt it's waterproof anymore... I prefer the SP, though, anyway, and I've been using it more since I got it at the end of July.

No warranty on the Z as I got it cheap second-hand..I'll keep it around for watching movies, though.

It doesn't seem too far off of the Xperia Z anyway, specs wise.

I wish Sony had a decent 7" tablet! That would be my go to device for mobile movies and games then!

Lol you can always try the Z ultra...6.4" is close enough to 7"

Touch wood, I have luckily not encountered any of the 'common' problem such as sleep of death, overheating, loss of water resistance, cover coming lose etc.

Haha, I've briefly considered it :P

Im starting to get more and more used to using these large (5"+) devices and dont think I will ever be able to go back to 4.3-4.5". I'm actually also considering maybe taking a Note 3 or Z ultra when I upgrade later this year.

Its just once you get used to having a large screen, its difficult to go back to smaller screens especially since I'm on the internet quite a lot so browsing is just awesome. Lol even after just using my tablet for an entire day, my Xperia Z feels small :D

Size matters :p (atleast in this situation)

I think if you turn your Z over and examine the top left corner you will find it's not flush..it seems to be far more common than not.

I don't really care about mine since the phone is 6 months old and I never really considered it 'top end' to begin with, certainly not as good as an SGS4 or an HTC One.

For me, now, it's just a beater device (which isn't waterproof); I much prefer the mid end Xperia SP.

I actually dont know why SOny chose glass for the back of the Xperia Z. Having the Tablet Z now, the smooth rubber-ish back feels great and actually looks pretty good as well....think they should have used that on the back of the XPeria Z also. But based on rumors and leaks it appears the new devices luckily dont have the glass back

Is there any cover for the tablet that will allow it to be charged in the docking station without having to remove the cover? I know it's dust proof and water proof, but it feels uncomfortable without a cover.
