Just be careful if you use the wrist band and Lifelog app. The new update to Lifelog is eating battery badly. :(
I barely use the app anyway, so I might as well uninstall it. It's useful for the number of steps you take. But I really like the vibrate feature on the band itself

I wish Sony would take more care when releasing updates... The last update for the Xperia Z tablet also kills battery

Upgrade or new contract?
Get the Smartband?
From what I gather the smartband is standard on upgrades and new contracts from cellucity and vodacom stores (subject to limited stock). This may differ from contract to contract so obviously just double check based on the contract you are taking out.

I upgraded at MTN and received the phone and a cover, smartband and also their great noise cancelling earbuds. Which are fantastic by the way.
Also 6 free movies, oh..also a 32gb micro sd card.
All in all well satisfied.

CELLUCITY has the smart desktop charger as well. The one for z1 is compatible.

One of the guys at Vodacom Canal Walk mentioned he is going to a place in the southern suburbs to get himself a Z2 charger. I was in the middle of doing my upgrade with another consultant so I didn't ask him 20 questions. He told me the name of the place but now I forget :( He had really long dreads (with a purple Z2) so at least I will be able to remember what he looks like and will pop in and ask next time I am there. If not him, there is another dude there that knows a lot of the cellular and tablet hardware. He popped over as well when i had a question and I see he also had himself a white Z2.

Oh, so got my Z2 from Vodacom store @Canal Walk. So with the phone came the Smartband, headphones (not noise cancelling), charger (USB cable and 2 pin plug) and also another USB micro -> USB cable (female USB connecter on one end and male micro USB on the other end).

The purple phone comes pre-packaged with the purple smartband. The white and black phones you can mix and match to your liking. They even offered me like a lumo green which I passed on :p I took a black phone and black smartband. Though the smartband is adjustable, anyone with a really thin wrist is going to find it too loose. i.e. really petite females.

Edit: There is a smaller smartband included as well, it was hidden away
Also included is a screen protector.

Upgraded from MTN on Sunday. Only got the phone and the goodies that come with it. Noise cancelling headphones, smartband and cover. No SD card no screen protector though I did gooi a skimp at the salesman. So poop on that front. Will have to get a SD card somewhere else.

Smartband and Lifelog's notifications seems to be sticky? Anyone had luck removing it or do you just live with it?

Two different sizes of band are supposed to be included. One active part I assume

What do you guys think of the Z2, I've had my Z2 for almost 3 weeks now and it's not as WOW as I thought it would be.

I used my wife's S5 for a month before I got the Z2 and I am leaning towards the S5 it has more features like the air gestures that I enjoyed a lot and it doesn't seem slower than the Z2.

Thinking of trading it for a S5 or HTC ONE M8.....

Maybe you can point out what makes it more special that the s5 or M8??

Other than air gestures what do you prefer?

My guess is internally they be similar - but when it comes to feel and premium, Sony takes it. Unless I'm missing something?

The software on the S5 seems well written, I had to download a different keyboard as I couldn't come right with the original keyboard and it just seem like a simpler UI. Nothing special or fancy.

The other issue is the navigation buttons takes more off the screen so in actual fact the screen is smaller than the S5.
