Yeah, front cover of the Vodacom June magazine would corroborate that. New contracts and upgrades should both be getting the Smartband.

What kind of cover did you get?

Also, how do you find the size of the Z2? I've been looking everywhere for a dummy phone so next best thing I'll have to see how the Z1 feels and looks. I only realised today the two are almost identical. Didn't believe any of the sales staff that told me that. They aren't always the most discerning individuals, especially when it comes to getting your business :p

The free cover that come with the phone is the Sony flip cover. It's nice because it can double as a stand as well. I have changed it to a standard shell type cover. I hate the flappy covers...

The size took a bit of time to get used to but I am over it and actually I am enjoying the feel of the phone. All the reviews went on about the dreaded square look and feel and how it was not ergonomic. Personally I quite like the square look and feel, the glass is a bit slippery though...

Lol Samsung threads are always busy no matter the country or forum. Not to diss Samsung and I don't want a war with Samsung followers but the Sony is leagues ahead of Samsung in terms of hardware and software. I can say this with confidence because I have owned S2, S3 & S4. Also if anyone is going to go on about Samsung & their software gimmicks the only one that matters is the power control and Sony is ahead in that game as well.

I am glad I went Sony for this upgrade, it's been a good change.
 
Loving my phone. Still waiting for the dock charger to come out and struggling to find a cover for it.

That's because their thread is easy to find. If it was called the Samsung Egalaxy S5 or the Samsung Galaxy ES5 thread people might have been as confused as we are looking at this one. But who wants to spell the name of the thing they're discussing correctly, amirite?
 
wow this whole charger plug coming out issue on XDA has totally put me off this phone

it seems manufacturers cannot build a decent phone these days without some kind of niggle coming to the fore??? :confused:

Z2 magnetic charging port loose

Hello all,

Any of you had any issues with the magnetic charging port on your Z2 coming lose? Mine has. Pulled it off the magnetic charging dock and the port was left of the dock.

Cool, i finally got to play with it a bit at the Vodacom Canal Walk store. I'm 95% certain I want it. It's pretty sweet looking, now i must just decide what colour to go for. Black or purple i'm thinking :p

That issue is also on the Sony support forum and not getting a lot of love / attention. From my side I can't wait to get the dock and see if I have the same issue. It will help determine my next phone choice. ;)

Are they actually offering a choice this time? For the Z1 I've only seen the white one and the Z2 only in black in SA.

I'd love a purple one. Then I just need to get a nice purple Eddie Murphy leather suit to go with it.

Yes, white, black and purple are on offer. Purple is apparently exclusive to Vodacom.
 
Awesome. Never thought being a Vodacom sucker would pay off.

Picked up the white Z2 from Vodacom. Loving the phone, battery life is incredible!
