Spur Incident

no, he was found not guilty on one charge, but all the others were withdrawn by the victim. this includes the case of beating her in public.

So what evidence do you have of him beating her in public. Who laid the charge? How do you know she might have started the fight with him and he hit her back. You are reading this from News24 which produces lower quality journalism than a rat pulling a newspaper from a garbage dump.

Look I don't think this guy is a particular saint, given the way he acted, and it wouldn't surprise me that he was beating his wife. But my feelings on him don't warrant me to validate any circumstantial evidence that you think might be there. It further doesn't warrant you labeling everyone who disagrees with you as being supportive of wife beating.

valid point news 24 is a bad source, I will give you that.

and I never said people who disagree with me support wife beating, I said people who defend him, support wife beating.

the entire thing gets summed up pretty nicely by madhawk, other than the fact that he cannot argue like a grown up and resorts to name calling (FYI I never claimed to be able to argue like a grownup myself) and he is missing one teeny tiny point.

if most of us were to be put in that situation, we would not approach the black women like he did, we would even though we are angry be able to compose ourselves much better. preventing the entire situation, his approach is a direct result of his short temper, something that is supported by the criminal cases against him.

see most of us here agree, he is a cnut, the black women is a cnut, and spur are cnuts and did not do the right thing.

Firstly, you can read the eye-witness account of it, you can choose to believe it or not, and spur obviously won't release the full CCTV footage, so take this as it is:
Lloyd said he noticed a large group of children playing next to him. Suddenly, one child grabbed another by the arm and hit her in the face with the back of his fist.

“The girl that was struck immediately ran out of the playground to her dad,” said Lloyd. “She was crying and holding her face.”
Her dad, who is believed to be a resident of Krugersdorp, asked what had happened, and she told him she had been hit in the face by another child.

“The man then walked calmly over to the group of children his daughter pointed out,” said Lloyd.

“I heard him introducing himself to the woman sitting among the children and saying that he had a slight problem. He then asked the woman very politely to discipline her child because he had hit the girl in the face. He also said she should please just talk to her son because ‘it’s not on’.

“Then the woman got up and told him to f**k off.”

All of this occurred before the people sitting next to the table took out their camera and started recording the incident.

This is the version of events Spur should have provided evidence for. Of him walking up to the table and talking to her. Of course this doesn't paint the woman in a particularly good light which is why they left it out.

“I told him to leave it because she was provoking him and he turned around to walk out.”

And that is what's happening alot.

Don't think that matters. If it's fact it's fact.

Notice how a quick glance of the News24 headline says one thing:
Banned Spur man has string of arrests for assault

then the article says something that kinda refutes everything:
Mokgwabone said four of the cases against the man were withdrawn and he was found not guilty on one charge of common assault.

So what the whole article is based on is nothing but digging up a dead horse to sucker everyone in for clicks.

Umm ok. Read the post I was responding to. I'm starting to wonder if baxteen is right.

The only lesson I have learnt here is: be careful of Spur!

Don't want to go eat there, get into some altercation and then see my past life published in a national news publication!

It does matter. The fact is that he isn't convicted of anything. And since everyone here lacks the evidence pertaining to all those cases, your definition of fact starts to look suspicious.

Stop being an idiot. It's like you got diarthoea of the mouth. Librarian asked if news24 got that legally and I said it doesn't matter. It's fact as it will be on his criminal record showing that he has been arrested all those times.

Only guilty convictions show up on a criminal record.

I learnt that everybody cares too frekin much and makes a mockery out of situations which shouldn't effect their lives a single bit.

This is trendy garbage in today's social media fanatic idiot realm.

Oh you have so much to learn. It's good that you never been arrested. It not only shows convictions but you have been arrested / charged with and if they were dismissed.
And if those are use against you in any sense of the word, it is illegal.

hmmm ... now I'm curious, what have you been arrested for / charged with to come by this knowledge?
