They just didn't cut us off, I have been on good luck run recently as far as loadshedding is concerned. How were you not shed? You have your own PV generation?
Lucky, I know if you're near a government covid testing center you don't get cut. I've been hit every singe timeThey just didn't cut us off, I have been on good luck run recently as far as loadshedding is concerned.
Still waiting for it to come back on. 20mins late already
If we look elsewhere on the continent for guidance, it feels inevitable that the ruling party will still be the ruling party for decades to come. It is the African way. A ruling party will do whatever it needs to in order to ensure it remains so. This is a grim forecast, but it is what it is. The fact that there may be 'democracy' and a functioning electoral system, well, these exist throughout this great continent but do not deter the ruling party from remaining in power. We can moan all we want, and vloek these bliksems to kingdom come, but things will never change until the ruling party is replaced with one that's serious about turning around the country's deplorable state that it finds itself in at the moment, and even if such a miracle should ever happen, our generation will most likely never see that recovery....

/sigh
First round of shedding finished, my little generator finally out of fuel since the fuel run in July for it, it went through 10l which covered me for about 26hours or so which isn't bad. So fired up the slightly bigger genny to cover the remaining hour and a half. May need to go get more fuel for tonight but the big genny is still on half.
So now City power is loadshedding areas who aren't even on the schedule and their excuse is the best I have seen in a while.

Out of interest; what do you run off that genny?
650w generator should be more than adequate. What's minimum genny that I can get to run 42 inch LED, AppleTV and Router?
Just to keep kids and us entertained during loadshedding.

Generator directly on eletronics can be pretty bad, unless its a good generator.650w generator should be more than adequate.
Something like this - https://www.game.co.za/game-za/en/A...ators/Ryobi-650W-GENERATOR-RG-950/p/456460-EA650w generator should be more than adequate.

Initial price I'd imagine, a 650w gennie is cheaper then a 750w inverter setup. You can have mine:

Ever since getting my:
Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support)
This Thread is for the Mecer Inverter only. My personal opinion on the unit: Seeing that there are lots of question and in lots if threads, here is my review/input on the Mecer Inverter. Instead of reposting I'll just reference here. I'll add more info soon. This should give you an idea what...mybroadband.co.za
I hardly use it. 16 Kva. 1500RPM diesel. Will power entire house, including geyser. 1 litre of diesel per hour.
Seriously, how can you want a genny over a small inverter system? Doesn't make sense to me.
NB: My genset is not actually for sale...
Edit: Come to think of it, I never use it. But it's still not for sale.
