Stage 2 predicted for 3 December 2018

My area has had "load" shedding for near on three years now, sometimes up to 18 hours a day, City power seem to fix the substation with sticky tape and bubble gum so it pops a lot.

"Flexing their muscles" lol. Why aren't they flexing anything to get schit fixed?

If there is even a small hint of this being the case, I expect the culprits to be fired, and then charged with economic sabotage/treason.....

I'd better boil my kettle whilst I still can. It's like playing chicken with Eskom to see whether I get to have my coffee before they flip the switch.

I expect Stage 2 to be the norm going forward actually... Which means I am without power for 2 hours 5 evenings out of 7 every week.....

Sarnia, Kloof and Bluff have hectic schedules ( Block 4 ), very rough and repetitive slots.

Block 4 myself as well...

I will start screaming very loudly at the municipality very shortly if this crap continues... Areas like DBN North for example never get Stage 1 load shedding... and only 1 day of Stage 2

Check Block 19...... Is industrial though which is why loadshed last.

Could also be all conspiracy theory about it and say it includes places like Caversham Glen/Nazareth/etc... :p

Honestly I have no issue with Industrial areas being load shed last/the least.. but when someplaces are clearly residential and NEVER suffer load shedding I get the fokken moer in.

so is all this shedding in response to keep most of the grid live?

or as Ive said before, its all artificial, when eskom needs more money, they shed for fun?

does anybody actually reliably know?

Nobody reliably knows anything..

Don't worry, Eskom said it's "only until March next year".

South African power firm Eskom H1 profit slumps 89 per cent profit
Power News - Published on Mon, 03 Dec 2018

Reuters reported that South African state run power firm Eskom reported a 671 million rand (USD 48.05 million) profit in the first half of the 2018/19 financial year, 89 percent lower than a year earlier. Eskom, Africa's largest public utility, said the profit slump was caused by higher borrowing costs, greater fuel costs and increased expenditure on staff.
The company is struggling to emerge from a financial crisis characterised by declining power sales, ballooning debt and cashflow problems.
