Has anyone noticed the steady price increase on PC games?

I remember when they used to be R249, then R279, then R289, then R299, and now, alot of games are over R300.

I will NOT buy a game that is over R300!
I refuse too!

How can a game such as Mass Effect be R299 (Kalahari.net) and then, UT3 is R400+ ?!?

NO!

Comments? Ideas?

I remember games being R300 a decade ago. Generally they are still the same price which is actually amazing. A few games are more but still far less than console games.

EDIT: I normally don't buy games over R200 so I usually wait untill they come out at R100 like UBIsoft's "Exclusive' range.

I also go for the exclusive range only, but sometimes, I go get ambitious and buy a game new... but yasus man!

New games cost R300 10 years ago and most still do, incredible really.

Remember not all games cost the same to make, also not all games are the same quality or catagory games.

Games cost alot... perhaps of the technolgy they are using, IMO Crysis was kind of expensive for 12 hours of "curren gen" gameplay.

CoD4's could have cost R400 and it would have still been popular! :D

UT3 cost R400 and Midway still made a loss on it :(

I didn't notice a price increase.
I remember when Dungeon Siege 1 came out [yeeeears ago] , it went for R450 . I specifically remember that one because -all- Microsoft games mysteriously got price hiked to R450 , while the rest were all actually R300-R350 .

Still can't beat console prices and some games are now rising to the R700 :( Thats just crazy!
I buy all my games pre-owned now, but still around R300-R400 to get pre-owned console game.

Guess we should just start trading more, at least we won't be feeding the prirates at the fleemarket.

im amazed pc games are 300 bucks

i have been paying 300 bucks since the days of 1942 some 5-7 years ago

so i dont know how they keep the price of pc's games the same considering everything has gone up

I must be old.
I remember paying 20c for a game of 1942.

Saw an Incredible Connection ad last night for the PS3 version of GTA4 .... only 800 ..... that is .... somewhat insane ...

I knew there was a good reason I stick to the free stuff, specially the online free stuff. Quite a few of them around, and worthwile playing.
