Steers Rip Off

Will not be ordering ribs from steers , even when pissed .

Now if these rocket scientists had just sent you a voucher , all this would be finished .

Best option is to find a manufacturer that sells you precooked ribs and buy there - never eat Steers ribs again. A place like BRM in Honeydew.

Now I am hungry.

Even if they told me to get lost I would have considered the thing done, and probably would support them again.

Its the red tape and buck passing that irks me.

Steers does not taste the same as it did 15 or so years ago. I sometimes still eat their food, but always disappointed because I expect it to taste the same as it used to, but it doesn't any more. Wonder what changed.

The poor customer response has certainly left a bitter taste :)

Grill changed and patty recipe too.

Grill: Went from using gas griller with volcanic rock to gas griller without volcanic rock. Volcanic rock has a similar effect to smoking.
Patty: Not entirely sure but has something to do with the quality of the beef used. Also stores started receiving their stock frozen, probably around 10 years ago but don't quote me... Frozen stock isn't the issue but cooking partially defrosted patties is...

their burger patties are disgusting. the halaal and non halaal patty tastes exactly the same. in the toilet. I used to enjoy them a lot.

So, seems like a guy higher up has acknowledged the issue and he too admits the 40% loss is too high ....

Its apparently been escalated further for .... action.

Boy oh boy their customer service stinks.

They should just make amends with you, faff around on their own time, and then report back to you as to what came of the investigation (if they so choose)?

Okay .....

So the Steers guys have confirmed ..... 20% max loss ... ie 180g on the ad, should yield around 140g.

They have asked me to go back and see the GM when I am next in the area.

I dont want the freemium, I am just glad that the point has been made and that nobody else will be ripped off :)

Debonairs customer service is just as crap - seems like a Famous Brand (owns them all) thing

I complained years ago and a got another rack of ribs a few weeks later which was just as disappointing. Now there are lots of choices besides Steers. I have only bought an ice cream cone from them since then.

If they cared they would reply on this thread and let customers know how they are correcting this!

Do they care?

Reading through this makes me laugh. For 140grm's (should be) of Ribs, you have been through the bulk of senior managers at Steers Franchise. And in all of that, you get to meet the GM next time round. If they actually realised the 15mins they each spent on your concern across the management cost, then that 140 grm's of ribs has probably cost them thousands!. Not sure why companies don't understand this concept. Same thing applies when I go (used to go) to Builders stores. If there is an item they are unsure of, it takes 5 different people to view and decide on what to do, and ultimately it is the store manager that makes a call. I don't mind wasting time, cause I know at the end of it, that item I am buying has cost them lots more due to the management cost wasted.
