Steers vs Burger King

Why don't you guys send BK a mail asking about bacon?

customercare @whopper.co.za

I already have. No response as yet.
I asked them why they don't list the protein amount per burger. They only list fat and carbs  Still waiting for a reply... If they don't reply, I'll never try a burger there.:D

That's quite hectic. I have no issue with the question being asked but the way that it is presented. I was almost caught out initially as well until I asked and they said it was an extra.
+1 on that cheese upsell nonsense!

I now say no to anything they ask me by default. In fact I go one step further and ask them to hold the sauce :p If i don't want extra calories from sauce I for damn sure don't want extra calories from a slice of overpriced cheese!!!

You mean a platter drenched in garlic butter so that everything tastes the same?

Their sushi is generally okay, though.

next time try order wiht cajun spice might be different

order the mussel sauce as well which is garlic might be good :D

and go to the halaal one in vangate if you in cpt ..they have indian spices as well

Just need to tweet that Justin Bieber has been spotted at Burger King tomorrow to make the crowd even more insane. Its going to be so funny with all the thousands of local trying to score a free burger tomorrow.

I remember the chaos with Strand Street Steers when they did the R10 burger.

Agreed. A concept I'll never grasp is the "grand opening" concept. It's serves no purpose other than to rubbish the name of your yet to be established organization.

Think about it. Grand opening, day 1 with a team of green employees and you got 100's of prospective clients lined up outside your door. Recipe for disaster.

Running a retail store is a marathon to be run over many many years. Why is it necessary to expend all that energy and expense and fan fair on a one day grand opening that is bound to be a disaster on account of inexperienced staff having to deal with extraordinary numbers of customers?

Anyway, good luck to BK tomorrow. Anyone going to the "grand opeing", maybe shoot a video of your experience. I would love to get a taste of the pandemonium.

Correct.

Glen Acres Shopping centre, Glen Marais Kempton Park..

Where? Is it not Steers Wednesday today? All the arguing about BK burgers made me hungry so a Steers family feast could be the in thing.

But KFC still remain my children's favorite.:D

They our neighbours...

Cool neighbours.

Man, this BK opening must be good for all the fast food (same genre of menu) places good. People are talking more about all the places than ever. Hell, I nearly went and got Steers last night because of following these discussions and I am not all that fond of Steers.

we should be friends and now you sell bacon so i cant even come for a free burger

now that is when life is not fair :D

I used to love going to his Steers, very good quality and most importantly, it was the only drive-thru steers in the area (That I knew about anyway)

I think Sandman has free wifi to sit-down customers as well

After doing some research I've decided, on principle(?), that I won't be purchasing anything from BK, McD or KFC ever again -mainly over Bacongate (tm). Same goes, I guess, for any other exclusively Halaal/Kosher chains/franchises (eg. some Spurs don't serve alcohol)

Haven't had BK since I was in the UK a few years ago & didn't really miss it.

McD is cheap & what I have eaten most regularly, but I won't really miss it & there are decent alternatives.

KFC is expensive & increase their prices on a frequent basis & never have decent anything on special. They also removed the bacon from the original Double Down replaced it with some chicken 'polony' slice. The mini-fillet here also tasted nothing like the one in the UK & probably wasn't a fillet at all.
