Black Steer was bought out by Famous Brands. The traditional Black Steer steakhouse is no longer. They've basically changed to pap and wors retail stores aimed at LM3-6. Russians, Fried chicken, chops and ice cream are also included on the new menu.

Quite disappointing really. The original Black Steer in Yeoville was epic!! Best ribs ever! Nowhere has come close since...

Aggenee!!! :-( Bacon and cheese burgers still??? I will look on their site tonight. I dont really care about the ribs....I just want bacon and cheese!!! Bacon and cheese on everythhhhhhhiinnnnnggggggg!!!! lol

You want a decent burger, try Gourmet Garage!

I find it disappointing that this franchise too, hasn't taken off and is dwindling. Been to the branch in Sandton (closed now) and Montecasino and thoroughly enjoyed my meal on both occasions!!

JB Rivers, Melrose Arch also make damn fine burgers!!

If you want an awesome burger, Dylan's in Parkmore.

Never heard of Dylan's but the menu looks superb. Will definitely give them a try!!

Please ask steers to bring back their original recipe and that volcanic ash rock thingies! please please please pretttttttttyyyy pleasssssseeeeeee!!!!!! You must admit that since they changed it tastes k@kkerig! :-( . If it tasted the same as before I would maybe pay the price asked these days for Steers burgers...but not the way it tastes now. Sooowweeeee. Then I might aswell go to Piattos and eat a actuall full meal there.

I actually sent the link to this thread to some of the head office folk. Not sure if they reading it or not, hopefully they are...
 
In that case I had Steers last night just coz of that bacon ad and I miss that real grill taste.

Please bring back.

Now it tastes closer to McD's "burgers".
