Steers vs Burger King

You people won't believe this but I have never had a Steers burger.

Yeah, the cheese upsell initiative is actually heavily punted at head office level.

We actually get penalized if we don't try and sell extra cheese.

We get monthly inspections and will get marked down if the cashiers aren't asking the question.

Also have mystery shoppers come around once every couple of months and we get marked down there as well if cheese isn't being offered.

Stores that score poorly on either inspections or mystery shopper reports, in worse case scenarios, get closed until they reach acceptable standards.

You're really missing out.

Get a King Steer combo on your way home today.

The only fast food place we have in my town is KFC, Wimpy and Spur.

And of course pizza places ... but they don't count. We also have a Ocean Basket, but they also don't count.

That's quite hectic. I have no issue with the question being asked but the way that it is presented. I was almost caught out initially as well until I asked and they said it was an extra.

While I understand that they make most of their profit from the extra cheese, if it wasn't so Damn expensive I might actually take it more often.

Same. They.caught.me like that once
I took that wedmesday special. They asked if.i.want extra cheese. I was like sure...why not. When they rang it up.and i saw the bill i was shocked...checked the slip.and it was the cheese that pushed it up so much. Something like R9 a slice or.something. yikes!!! Never fell for that again.

Yip, I've had this discussion with head office many times before!! R4.50 for a 12g slice of cheese amounts to extortion!! That same cheese slice costs us R0.95

If it was cheaper then I would definitely consider adding it to the burgers.

We didn't HAVE forums, facebook and social media and stuff back then mate, the internet was still only getting started really...

Even cellphones/SMS was "new"... there was no communication like we have today. all we had were newspapers.

It was those damn indians' plan all along... give us a "curry cup" to divert our attention when McD's launched. :D

Just need to tweet that Justin Bieber has been spotted at Burger King tomorrow to make the crowd even more insane. Its going to be so funny with all the thousands of local trying to score a free burger tomorrow.

I remember the chaos with Strand Street Steers when they did the R10 burger.
