Hi,
I have 1 email account to receive email. I collect and send my email from three locations:

1. at the office - smtp.saix.net
2. when at home - smtp.afrihost.co.za
3. When using my 3G - mail.mtn.co.za

I have setup 3 accounts in Outlook with the varies SMTP settings, this means that i need to change the account when replying for the varies locations

I have tried to setup the smtp setting provided by our hosting company - but this does not seem to work with the MTN or the Afrihost connections

to speed up things I would like to have a single Outlook account with the three smtp settings and not have to worry about selecting the correct account when sending

Alternatively can anyone provide a alternative single SMTP that will work for all three connections

Some ISPs block connections to external smtp servers on port 25. Check with your hosting provider if they offer smtp on another port (often ports 26). The best solution in your case is to have just the one account with your hosting providers smtp server. I had the same problem, i have my own smtp server, one day suddenly i could not send through it using Afrihost, so i switched to port 26 and it worked fine.

Or alternately if you have a gmail account you could use gmails ssl smtp server (port 587 TLS in outlook 2007 - and set authentication to your gmail account.)

The MTN one should work, I know my vodacom smtp allows all mail through so don't think MTN would be any different ?

Well you pop your mail off gmail? Or you see if you can get hold of an authenticated smtp server. Your isp may provide this, but usually charge for it.

thanks looks like port 26 works on Telkom. will try the varies connections when I get home
