STOP using hazard lights in fog

I will still be using my hazard lights in fog conditions regardless of this thread. It has always made sense to do it in my previous 25 years of driving and will most likely make sense to me again on the next occasion. I will most probably have forgotten about this thread by then anyway.
 
Just switch off everything, put the car in neutral and glide down the mountain. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee. \o/

You didn't, but since you are using the hazards to make yourself visible, perhaps you don't trust your fog lights, that's like using 2 condoms.

Are you using two condoms? :p

The bakkie I drive doesn't have rear foglights so it's hazards for me.

Adds to the visibility and ensures that the driver behind me is firmly focused on my car's backside. Where it should be.

The argument that it doesn't allow you to notify others of an actual hazard has no merit, as in that situation everyone is already in "hazard mode" for lack of a better phrase...

I presume you use logic to decide when it is required and then also drive at the appropriate speed. I am referring to those people doing it at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons and slow down to a crawl. Big difference.

Actually I don't trust the driver behind me. I treat everyone on the road like a Seriously...

I think it's you who should, I am sure the national road traffic and regulations act will support my statements. Still trying to find the right article ;)

Luckily there's a law for everything, so I don't have to try so hard to prove you wrong.

Ja you need to keep moving. Pulling over and stopping or slowing way down is just as dangerous.

Good luck with that. Even if you do find some obscure law you then have to convince the traffic authorities to actually start enforcing it against their better judgement.

True that is, but remember a few years ago how everybody was debating whether a traffic circle is to be handled like a 4 way stop or give way to the right? It took lots of radio and news articles but eventually people got it right.

Glad they did in your area. Where I am people still approach a circle and proceed to freak out and do whatever comes to mind first... :D

roflmao, I had one of those just recently. This old hag freaked out in her car because I came from the right and assumed she is ok with it. Lol, she was jumping up and down in her seat. But usually it works quite well by now.
 
One of the advantages of having an older car...people tend to see things your way when it comes to circles.

At some point you'll accidentally read this back to yourself and hopefully has as much of a perplexed look on your face as I do right now. Hazards are certainly on...
