Hi. I have just had a 10mbts fibre installed from Metrofibre networks. I have read that this should be suitable for streaming. Mine is however buffering. Line is 10mbts symmetrical uncapped & unshaped. Getting 10.1 in the download and 12 on the upload. Using mygigca quad core android box. Any advice and should i upgrade the fibre to 25mbts.

What are you streaming? What's the resolution? Are you sure it's not due to the WiFi signal being poor or the android box being weak?
Can you try streaming the same thing on a device connected via a LAN cable?

I have not tried the lan. Streaming 1080p. Dropped to HD and same issue. Will try the lan and see what happens. MFN installed the Calix 813g Gigahub router.

You must hard wired, Ethernet cable, it should work or are you using other apks that do sometimes buffer but Netflix should work fine as well as showmax, also try look for an apk Pluto tv that works without a VPN and works well. Or do you have other devices that are consuming a lot of data while you are trying to stream?

Another question. My kids have their tablets connected to wifi now and it obviously uses some of the bandwidth. Can the router be configured to limit the amount of bandwidth used by wifi and the balance allocated to the ethernet port 1.
