Hi all

I had a strict NAT last week and after going to portforward.com and following their instructions, my NAT was open again.

But after getting back from holiday over the weekend, I found that I had a strict NAT again (according for MW2). When I tried to redo the portforward method, I had an error message when doing the last port saying "Port conflict with other service". There were no error messages on the first 3 ports but none of the ports are open (checked using the pfchecker program from the site) and my NAT is still at strict.

I've reset my router and I'm not the most knowledgeable about this type of stuff so have no idea where to go from here. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

*bump

My friend reset my router and managed to get an open NAT but now its gone back to strict! Why the **** can't this damn thing keep the one setting that works!

The problem you are experiencing seems to be for a number of reasons. I have the same problems. Problems= a combination of Iburst(changing between towers), Steam(holding your login) and Iwnet(not see the correct ports). There is no one way to fix this, this is what I have to do to get MW2 to work.
1. Reset router , unplug for 15-30 sec and reset modem.
2. Restart PC
3. Go to c:\program files\stream\steam applications\cod\ and rename the iwmp2 file ( I usually rename it iwmp2.bak) Then open steam\my games right click on the multiplayer link, select properties and run the verification option. This will download a new exe file.
I would suggest trying options 1 & 2 a few times before option 3. I was hopeful over the last 3-4 days as everything was running fine until last night I had to opt for 3 again.
I hope this helps.

I'm actually using it on xbox live. Will have to try resetting the ports again later today. Bloody frustrating though. I just wanna shoot stuff!
